Just a reminder, or, fair notice if you’re new…
The comments section on this website has always been a place where faceless people talk (or in this case write) to each other as if they were actually speaking to each other in person. That’s hardly ever the case on the internet. And people have absolutely noticed that difference in the past.
Tact and mutual respect have always been the norm. Sniping, trolling, snobbishness, backhanded passive-aggressive insults, and all sorts of jackassery are rare occurrences. Sure it happens, and there flareups every so often, but it’s not a regular thing by any means. And that’s pretty awesome.
Many thanks to all of you who keep the comments here interesting, incredibly useful, civil, and often hilarious. They’re nothing like the comments section you’d find on most other websites & message boards, which can often read how this goat sounds:
