Don’t call it a vacation. Not with both the Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale for men as well as the Semi Annual Brooks Brothers sale launching on Monday. Expect features on them. Also, three suggestions for what to wear on New Year’s Eve will show up to start the week as well. We’ll also run a best-of-the-year series next week, but in general, there won’t be quite as many posts between now and 2012.
There’s lots to do to get ready for the fast approaching new year, so calling it a “vacation” wouldn’t be quite right. We’ll still be here, just less outwardly visible after Monday. Thanks for a terrific 2011…

If readers Fiestaplatypus (the hell?) and GQ1 are accurate, then this was a hell of a deal. El-Platypus has the pants and likes em despite a slightly higher rise. GQ1 was impressed with the quality. Lands’ End seems to run those 40% off sales every so often, so if this is your type of thing, might want to keep an eye out for the next one.
Full disclosure: This one wasn’t so easy this time. Even with all the Christmas sales coming and going. But maybe the difficulty level was raised by all the eggnog ice cream and rum that had been consumed.
If you think these commandments are being shattered now, just wait until all the New Year’s resolution-ers hit the gym post 1/1/12. But more power to em’ for showing up. The vast majority never get in the car.
