People are weird. And some people just love to complain. Thanks to the explosion of social media & brands using the likes of Facebook to try and make a sale, the axe grinding has never been more public. And it can get strange.

Haha priceless
Nowis, you need to go to the left side of this page and click unlike… ;p
LOL @ the Brooks Brother’s response: “I’m not at all satisfied with your response.”
You shoulda put a hand beside that one as well, ’cause I can almost guarantee he was expecting/hoping for some kinda handout.
I’ve got no eyeroll for the anti-Playboy Club comments. Still this is one of my favorites regulars.
Bet this is going in some Whiney Dappered Commenter folder for a future post.
Aaaand just saw the comment section post. Sorry Dappered!
There’s no reason to apologize. I was on the fence about an eye roll here, I just think they might be overreacting a little. I didn’t even think twice about “The Playboy Club” being anything more than just a TV show.
And follow up: Even if I wasn’t on the fence and all that bla bla bla-ness, your comment MagM is certainly not what the comments post is all about. Not even in the ballpark. Or the stadium’s ballpark. That post is more or less a reminder that usually seems to happen every six months. So, no issues at all.
I had a good chuckle from this post. thanks joe!
I’m with MagM on this one. Even if the commenters are against the idea of “The Playboy Club” at least they’re showing their opinions in a respectful manner.
+1 !!
I hear you. I think it was the whole “we won’t be having this on in my house” thing that just seemed too riled up to me. I wonder if bloomingdale’s walked into a bit of a buzz saw that they didn’t see coming. I sure wouldn’t have. Over/under half a season of “The Playboy Club”? I haven’t seen it. And don’t plan on watching it, but…
I WON’T BE HAVING THAT DAPPERED SITE ON IN MY HOUSE!!!11!11!!!!1 ZOMG!
Kenneth Cole is a clothing company?? Unacceptable. This has ruined my day.
What’s dressed inappropriately to a “the III” ? A knit tie and sweater instead of a tuxedo?
I understand that there are people in the world who are so unfamiliar with stuff like facebook that they can’t figure out how to “unlike” things, but that really begs the question of how they were able to successfully sign up for a FB account and “like” things in the first place.
Trudat.
Computers, man. They are so old and useless.
Agree Joe… a lot more uproar over this one than I expected. Figured there would be some noise when it was first announced, but that it would fade. I haven’t watched it, but Mad Men made earlier eras popular again so not surprised someone came up with the idea. Folks don’t have to watch it, but can’t grasp why they’re so worked up about it.
What’s funny is the cluelesness these folks demonstrate, but other than that I’m not inclined to give retailers any benefit of the doubt. If they want to keep the perpetual buying frenzy going, nothing they do will ever be good enough. Not that I approve; that’s just the fcked up economic/cultural model we have boxed ourselves in at present, lol.
Are you a HIMYM fan by any chance?
I used to work in marketing and we’d get all sorts of weird comments on Facebook. People are not rational.
Ha! Yes actually, but that is my real name. When I first came across the facebook profile of the woman who is now my fiance, she thought it was fake…
I am not at all satisfied with this post.
Sent from my iPhone
Agreed. Im glad someone else said that. Thats not at all an eyeroll to me.
But i love these posts! This installement is hilarious everytime.
I rolled my eyes at the “put your clothes” on comment. The Bunnies wear one piece bathing suits. The outfits the women wear on “Dancing With the Stars” are more revealing.
I had read about The Playboy Club and Pan Am both being prompted by Mad Men’s success and I was surprised to see that on a Season 4 episode of Mad Men that I just watched on Netfilx, the main characters actually go to THE Playboy Club. I decided to not watch since I was already satisfied with Mad Men and its universe.
