Endless Friends & Family Sale – 20% off plenty

September 28, 2011 By Joe | Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. Also, we take your privacy rights seriously. Head here to learn more.

Endless F&F: 20% off orders of $100 or more w/ code SEPEVENT

Code expires Thurs. 9/29 and there are some restricted brands (Cole Haan, Varvatos, Red Wing, etc…)

So your shoe appetite has been whetted by the Allen Edmonds sale, but you just don’t have $200 in your budget for shoes right now.  Join the club.  Enter Endless with their Friends & Family Sale.  Take 20% off over $100 with the code SEPEVENT, and since this is Endless everything ships and returns free and fast.

There’s a crap-ton of exclusions on this one.  A crap ton I tell you.  But there are more than a few worthwhile picks under $200.  Some even under $100.  On with it:
.

Sebago Brattle in Dark Brown – $104.00 ($130)
No boat necessary.

If you want em’ in black or taupe suede, try Sierra Trading Post first.  But the pretty close to perfect dark brown are tough to find.  Awesome for this time of year.  Full review can be found right here.

Gordon Rush Charleston – $105.60 ($295)
Has the moc toe stitching without the clunk.

You have to wonder about a pair of boots that started at $300 and have since dropped to a third of that original cost.  Gordon Rush always seems to be a little overpriced, but the Charleston boot in particular looks to have a ton of potential.  Especially in saddle.  Different but not obnoxious.  Might need a little break in time.

Florsheim Willett Loafer – $88.23 ($175)
Also available in black.

Already marked down and with the extra 20% off these drop under $90.  They look a little funky just sitting there by themselves, but once you get pants on they’re an interesting take on loafers.

J. D. Fisk Franklin Desert – $90.25 – $143.20 ($113 – $175)
Rorschach approved.

The price all depends on your color selection.  And there’s eleven colors to pick from.  Some are suede, some leather, some canvas, some nubuck.  Made in Mexico.  More of a modern looking shape on the classic Desert Chukka setup.  Choose wisely, some of these have some distressing at the toe that might not look the best in person.

Lacoste Osier Lace up – $81.39 ($185)
$80 with free shipping and returns. Worth a shot?

The deep brown color is already marked down to $101 which is just over the threshold.  Sorta odd with the perforated interior leather panels and thick laces.  Certainly not a true dress shoe, but a dressed up casual.

Kenneth Cole New York Mountain Bike Boot – $155 – $172 ($215)
Slightly aggressive looking.

You’re either going to love or hate this style.  From Kenneth Cole’s New York line and not from his lower REACTION.  Pretty sure these got a mention in Esquire or GQ a few months back.  UPDATE:  These are available over at the Neiman Marcus run Last Call for $103.25.  You’ll see this new price once it gets added to your cart.

Florsheim Veblen Longwing – $135.96 ($170)
Shipping is free through Endless.

Here’s why it’s worthwhile to consider going through Endless instead of Florsheim this time.  Despite the perpetual 20% off code LINK20 for Florsheim, you’ll get dinged on return shipping if you order through the brand.  Endless gets you free 2-day shipping plus free returns.  Four colors available.  Widths get limited on the wine (shown) & rust colors.

Johnston & Murphy Runnell Boot – $103.96 ($130)
Built for fall.

J & M’s take on the suede desert style chukka boot.  Even comes with a crepe sole and sheepskin lining.  Got one glowing review yet another says they run a little long and narrow.  Also available in black and grey suede.

The Splurge:  Allen Edmonds McTavish – $236.00 ($295)
Just call it the wallet killer.

There’s been some interest in these in the comments.  On sale for $250 via Allen Edmonds but a little lower (with free two-day and free returns) thanks to Endless.

The Watches: Bulova Marine Star Black Dial – $165| Silver Dial Dress – $90
Can't miss sport & dress.

Yep, the watches get 20% off too.  Too bad Citizen is one of the many “exclusions” for this sale, but luckily enough Bulova is not.  The Marine Star Black Dial has been kicking around for awhile.  A lot of good, classic dive looks for not much cost.  You could anchor almost any dressed up wardrobe with the Bulova Silver dial.  Both are quartz.

The Endless Friends & Family code SEPEVENT is good for 20% off lots of stuff over $100.  Code Expires 9/29

Hi do you guys think the Charleston will work well in the winter? or is it just purely a fall boot?

  2. Joe says

    September 28, 2011 at 5:10 AM

I think it depends on where you’re at.  It has a rubber sole, but it’s not insulated or anything and the leather isn’t waterproofed.  If you’re talking about fighting snow and road salt on a daily basis, you’re probably going to need a boot that’s designed specifically for that kinda thing.

I wouldn’t wear any of these shoes except for the first wingtips (Sebagos) and the Allen Edmonds.  All the rest just look tacky.  But that’s just me and who cares?

  6. Joe says

    September 28, 2011 at 6:05 AM

To answer your question about who cares, apparently you do enough to leave a comment.  Suede desert boots aren’t tacky and the Charleston has huge potential.  The Veblen has a real strong following.  Everyone is going to have a different opinion.  You know, you don’t always have to leave a comment.

Amazon has the Bulova watch for $90.00 as well!

FYI, just decided to try this close Sebago cousin, for $56.05 over at LastCall.com with their 40% sale. Code FRIEND50 for free shipping as well.

    Sebago Storrow Oxford

Thankfully, the black Sebago Brattle is sold out in my size, preventing an impulse buy. I have been lusting after the McTavish for a long time. I can wait until the Nordstrom sale in late December.

I have that Bulova. It’s super light, thin and makes a great dress watch that fits under my tightest cuffs. Got it for $86 shipped off Amazon, I know the prices went up a bit since. Really classy watch for the money. I paired it with a walnut band after I missed out on the Skagen Super Slim.

Nice find. They also have the Penguin Willie Wing-Tip for $65. Not sure if I like it. Suede is tougher to maintain.

    EDIT:
Or, what about linen? Poland Oxford, Black, $52 (also in Brown). Or, the Johnny Oxford in Brown

  12. Matt Court says

    September 28, 2011 at 7:39 AM

I agree with Yacko about those Sebagos. Super nice. The only have the dark brown for little people feet though. I also don’t usually like moc toe boots but those Charlestons are ace. You were completely right about people falling into the “love it” or “hate it” categories over the Kenneth Coles. I am definitely in the hate it category but could be perfect for someone who has the swag to pull them off.

Joe, you need to make a post on the Ralph Lauren.com 40% off sale items, 50% off regular priced items!

  14. Steve Wallace says

    September 28, 2011 at 8:02 AM

Gah! Pulled the trigger on the natural McTavish yesterday using AE’s sale! Oh well. Also, in cart it said that they’d be a 4-5 week backorder but they ended up shipping last night so I guess they found some :).

  15. Joe says

    September 28, 2011 at 8:48 AM

Workin’ on one for this afternoon.  And, for anyone that’s wondering… VIPRLRGB gets you half off a regular priced item / 40% off a sale item from Ralph Lauren or Rugby.  Thanks to all the guys who sent in style tips this morning about it.  Much appreciated David, should have something later on today (not sure when the code expires though?)

  16. Joe says

    September 28, 2011 at 8:51 AM

Holy crap those Sebagos went fast.  Coulda sworn they had more sizes.  Per the Kenneth Coles, I completely agree.  Although I think since 3/4s of the boot would be covered by jeans, they could still look pretty sweet.  But like you said, totally depends on the person.

  17. Joe says

    September 28, 2011 at 8:53 AM

Good heavens.  I’m not normally a saddle shoe guy, but those Storrows at that price?  Want.

  18. BenR says

I finally made a boot commitment and bought the Timberland Earthkeeper 2.0 Moc Toe boot from STP last week – marked down to $76, plus an extra 20% off with a sale code, so they were $60. They aren’t dressy or suit-worthy like some of these boots, but they’re still pretty good for a casual boot. I think STP has really cemented its position as the best deal for shoes if you don’t mind waiting for past-season stuff.

Those KCNYs look like they’d take a good ten minutes to get in and out of! I don’t think I could physically wear them, but they look fun. Also, love the contrast stitching on the McTavish. Is that yellowish thread? Sweet detail.

  21. Kirby says

    September 28, 2011 at 9:14 AM

I have the watch too.  the band was crap, so I paired it with a nylon James Bond Regimental Stripe band.  looks great, uber comfy, even gets compliments from other guys – normally my watches only catch the eye of women.

  22. David C. says

    September 28, 2011 at 9:15 AM

    The code is dead now.

    SON OF A.  ‘kay.  Damn.

  24. YackoYak says

    September 28, 2011 at 10:13 AM

Yeah that stitching and the stacked heel is why I want them. I assume you’d have to use a neutral polish to keep it that way – which works since this is a casual shoe.

  25. YackoYak says

    September 28, 2011 at 10:17 AM

Only out of the 8.5 and 10 sizes now, the sizes are sorted weird in the menu.

  26. Josh says

    September 28, 2011 at 10:38 AM

I’d been looking at the Runnell’s for over a year and finally got them when I got back from Kuwait a month ago.  I love them, they’re soft, comfortable and I can keep them clean with just a minute with a suede brush every few days.  And, crucially, they’re so close to the chukkas James Bond wore in Quantum of Solace without being $500.

  27. Britton says

Joe can we get some recommendations for us guys who are fighting snow and road salt on a daily basis, but still want to look good this winter?

  28. BenR says

    September 28, 2011 at 12:34 PM

I don’t have that exact watch, but I have a square-case Bulova that’s very similar… and I can attest to the low quality of the leather band. A little disappointing, but the watch was super cheap and it’s easy enough to find decent replacement bands.

  29. nautical_but_nice says

    September 28, 2011 at 12:40 PM

I’m a big fan of the Storrow. Wish I had seen those earlier before I just bought my last pair of shoes. I may still order them.

As for the Poland oxford, the color is fine, but they are a little plain and I am not sure linen is appropriate for fall weather or in terms of comfort or durability. The Johnny oxford is leather, but I’m not sold on the styling of it or the color.

Does anyone have any experience with Robert Wayne shoes they’d care to share? I saw some suede desert boots from Robert Wayne for around $50 and was wondering about the quality.

  30. Curt says

    September 28, 2011 at 12:51 PM

Yeah, I’ve wanted those Sebagos since the first post on them, but even then the sizes were very limited.  When I looked just now they only had 8.5.  Is this the case, or am I doing something wrong? YackoYak said it was organized weird?

  31. Joe says

    September 28, 2011 at 1:09 PM

I’m only seeing that size as well.  There were more, but I think they got snapped up pretty fast.  Maybe they only had one of each in a few sizes.  I almost always make sure there’s common sizes like 10, 10.5, 11, etc… before it hits the site.  I’ll keep my eyes peeled for these though.

  32. Gusto says

    September 28, 2011 at 8:46 PM

Thanks Joe. Yeah, Are there any dressy options for winter boots? or are all of them rugged-looking?

Has anyone pulled the trigger on the Kenneth Cole moutain bike boots from either Endless *or* Lastcall??? I’m curious to see if there is a difference between them, as the description of the boots on Endless’ site says that it has a “shearling lining”. If that were true, I’d buy them immediately. I’ve seen this same ver batim description on amazon only to read a review that said it in fact did NOT come with a shearling lining.
