Credit to Weston for sending in the Style Tip
Kenneth Cole, Johnston & Murphy, and Cole Haan. Those are probably three of the biggest names in the mid-priced shoe market. A bit of a fence rider, the Nike owned Cole Haan doesn’t lean as modern as Kenneth Cole, nor do they seem quite as traditional as most of what Johnston & Murphy offers. They seem to go for mass appeal yet sometimes come in extremely overpriced ($100 for a flip flop?)
Thanks to the extra 25% of sale items code: 25SALE (creative huh?) a few of their shoes, coats, and even some small leather goods have dipped into semi-reasonable territory. Free shipping kicks in at $150. A warning, you’re on the the hook for return shipping cost if you have to send it back. Picks? Why not…
.
This is what your penny loafers should look like. They don’t have to resemble your grandparent’s orthopedics. Surprisingly enough, made in Italy. More than a few colors to choose from (some obnoxious). Greys would only be for the guys who don’t mind standing out a bit more. Conveniently just under the $150 free shipping threshold. Maybe pick up a pair of their socks if you need some.
Cole Haan’s true oxford wingtip. Available in a wear it dressed up or dressed down Mahagony, a white, and a goofy blue nubuck (but doesn’t look like it’s entirely nubuck?)
Sandy suede cap toes that come with true oxford closed lacing? Not a bad addition to the shoe lineup if you’ve got the basics covered. At almost $100 off and just over $80, the price is certainly right.
Hey look, these are on sale. The same shoes that were the subject of a “would you wear it” from a few months back. Jury was hung on that one, no clear answer. But some showed interest so… here they are (sizes are getting limited.) If you’re debating between these and the suedes, get the suedes.
Enjoy peeing in the woods more than a few times a year? Who doesn’t. For the outdoors types who want a waxed cotton jacket that dips farther down than a bomber. Inexpensive, but it is the middle of friggin’ summer. It does have a pocket on one of the sleeves (more pics can be found at Zappos)
Past the hip length with less of those “what could I possibly ever put in all these” pockets. Price is decent at $130 too.
Not a bad price for smooth card case. Stamped logo is subtle, and even if anyone notices it’s a grown up enough brand that you won’t get any internal smirks from business contacts. Also available with some texture if you prefer.
For those of you who have jettisoned the keyboard anchored laptop in favor of the space agey tablet. The smooth black leather version comes with a red interior. Thatched brown exterior on the other.
