Lands’ End Canvas 40% off any one item

L.E.C. 40% off Highest Priced Item w/ code APRIL40 and pin 1164

Expires Wed. 4/20/11 at 11:59pm CENTRAL time.  Credit to Edward C for the StyleTip

This is why Lands’ End Canvas has assembled a legion of fans.

Most retailers would pound their chest if they ran a buy one get one half off sale.  And of course the second item would have to be of equal or lesser value.  Not L.E.C.  Just take 40% off the highest priced item.  Even if you’re only buying… one item.  Free shipping kicks in if you spend $75 or more.

Use the code APRIL40 and the pin 1164 for the discount.  What about item exclusions?  None.  Not even these:

.

Allen Edmonds MacNeil Longwings – $195.00 (reg. $325)
AEs don't get under two bills too often.

On Wisconsin indeed.  Allen Edmonds for under $200?  I’m going to guess that most don’t know LEC carries a couple pairs of Allen Edmonds.  The MacNeil is built with the AE classic 360 welt.  Translation:  They won’t be the sleekest dogs in the yard.  But they’re American made legends for under $200.  From WI, which is where LEC is based.  Still can’t believe the code works on these.  On to some other picks…

.

Lands’ End Canvas Leather Lace-Up Boots – $89.40 (reg. $149)
For stomping. Light stomping, but stomping still.

Not trim dress boots, not full on work boots either.  A weekend pair you’ll reach for until it gets real hot, then probably look forward to lacing up come fall.  $90 shipped.

.

Lands’ End Canvas Heritage Cotton Peacoat – $59.70 (reg. $99.50)
Also available in navy

The alternative to the utility jacket option most of us have.  Maybe you have a trench but also want something you can beat up and wear more comfortably with jeans and sneakers.  This cotton twill version of a classic pea coat gets dropped to $60 with the code, and consider going down a size.  The reviews say it tends to run big.  One reviewer, who claims he’s 5’10” 162, said a small fit him perfectly.

.

Lands’ End Canvas Marled Blazer – $38.94 (reg. $129.50)
Now at Old Navy price levels.

One of the top answers to the “what would you buy if you won?” question from over here.  Now extra tempting even if you didn’t win one of the gift cards.

.

Lands’ End Canvas Heritage Straight Fit Jean & Slim Fit Jean – $17.39 (reg. $49.50)
$18 and Esquire approved. Unreal.

The Straight Fit jean was featured by Esquire in the last couple of months, and the slim fit jean certainly won’t be skinny, but should hopefully get there for guys who like their denim close.  Under $20 too.

.

Lands’ End Canvas 1963 Trip Bag – $78.00 (reg. $130.00)
Nice forest Green option on the right.

The more rugged looking but still good looking weekend bag.  And for under $80, not a bad price either.

The 40% off highest priced item code APRIL40 and pin 1164 expires 4/20 and 11:59pm CENTRAL

Damn! I just bought that marled blazer for a friend’s birthday. It’s showing up tomorrow. Boo!

Hey, I just put something in my cart over @ LandsEnd (not Canvas) and used the code anddddddd….it worked!

Now, I haven’t actually hit final “Submit Order” button so who knows how that will turn out….

Not sure how popular the non-Canvas side of Lands End is on this site, but at least you have more options (potentially).

am i missing something? i am not getting free shipping like mentioned above (went to purchase $200 worth of goods)

  4. Joe says

    April 20, 2011 at 1:16 AM

Can you select “free 4-7 day shipping” from a drop down menu somewhere? Seems to be working for me. Hypothetically putting in the Allen Edmonds Wingtips to test it: https://dappered.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/LEC40code.jpg

  5. EKC says

It looks like around 5-6pm today that LEC caught on to people ordering multiple times.

The code has now been updated to Free for order OVER $75.
@Joe that is why the AE Wingtips are still coming up with free shipping.

  6. Joe says

    April 20, 2011 at 2:43 AM

Right, as long as your order (meaning, your one order) is $75 or more, it ships free. Even if it’s multiple items under $75. If it adds up to over $75, it should ship free. None of that one shirt ordered, then one polo ordered, then one pair of pants ordered to get 40% off everything tomfoolery. But BenBen still should still be getting the free shipping. Right? Check it out, two items put in the cart, neither of which is $75 individually, but over $75 you get the discount and free shipping: https://dappered.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/LECItems2.jpg

Call them up and ask for a price adjust. I know J Crew will do one up to a week after purchase (if a sale starts, or the item moves to sale)

  9. EKC says

    you completely correct sir.
any purchase over $75 should be getting free shipping.

Kinda stinks that people were ordering that way to push LEC to up the free shipping limit. Good catch, thought I noticed something had changed while putting this together.

Wow what a deal! I’ve been hunting for a pair of black brogue wingtip’s for a while – this just made my day! $130 off _AND_ free shipping to Canada. Even better? Since Allen Edmonds is domestically made, no duty charges either (thx NAFTA) 🙂

Only bummer is that I’d been wanting those brown leather lace-up boots for a while, but the moment they go on sale, they go out of stock in 11.5/12’s…

  13. Anonymous says

    April 20, 2011 at 3:09 AM

This is an awesome, awesome deal. If only LEC had a regular/long option for their blazers… I won’t risk buying one online if they don’t have a long for my arms. Thanks for the heads up.

  14. Ryan Edmonds says

    April 20, 2011 at 3:16 AM

Agree so much. Same with LL Bean Signature. The jackets/blazers/suits and even shirts look great, but I won’t risk the sleeves. Cause of that, JCrew gets all my money for blazers, and BiasedCut gets it all for shirts.

  15. Mike S says

    April 20, 2011 at 3:20 AM

They give you the free shipping based on the the subtotal before the discount. Excellent.

Anyone have any opinions on their Lightweight Trench? I’m considering making that my 40% off purchase.

  17. Josh says

    April 20, 2011 at 4:55 AM

Any idea how the boots fit? For reference, I just bought some Red Wing 875’s in a 9D, I’m probably a 9E or EE, and they are definitely too narrow. Looks like the 9.5 sold out while I was looking at the page too… Wondering if it would even be worth trying the 10 (I wear a 10 in running shoes)

    Hey Joe,

On the topic of blazers, what do you think of this as an essential piece?

    http://canvas.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-397770_X6.html?amp;CM_MERCH=REC-_-CVPP-_-GGT-_-2-_-397770-_-396217

I don’t have that quintessential navy blazer yet so I decided to pick this one up while there was such a good sale for it. Came out to be $114 I think, after taxes and free shipping.

Also, and this is just out of curiosity, Allen Edmonds offers a shoe resoling service- would purchasing the AE shoe through Land’s End Canvas void this service from AE? Or do they offer it to all AE shoes, no matter where they are purchased from?

  20. Rich says

    April 20, 2011 at 9:26 AM

Awesome sale by LEC. They’re just proving why they won the Store Wars bracket.

  21. grasking says

    April 20, 2011 at 10:27 AM

I’m pretty sure Allen Edmonds offers the resoling service whether you bought the shoes from them, lands end, ebay or wherever.

  22. grasking says

    April 20, 2011 at 10:28 AM

If you have a Sears nearby you can order online there and get free shipping.

  23. Jon says

Note on price adjustments: I order something that was reduced in price last week. They won’t allow a price adjustment for this sale. Just tried, and failed.

  24. Joe says

    April 20, 2011 at 1:30 PM

A classic wool blazer, for $114, that DOESN’T have those yellow gold buttons is an A+ in my book. Looks simple, haven’t seen it myself, and I’m interested to hear how it fits since LEC stuff is slimmed down but not super slim. Should strike a good balance between traditional/essential and modern.

  25. AJ says

Went with the Navy Chino Blazer, $57 shipped….Any thoughts on this one from anyone who may already own it ?
BTW, when I received the INC Gingham blazer, I had the same WTF reaction, until I tried it on…and it is surprisingly good..
    Thanks

Good call on the price adjust! I gave them a call and they honored the code. I think the best part was hearing this on the phone:

…”I’d be happy to make that adjustment, just give me a moment…looks like it’s already on sale…and…WOO!?”

  27. Anonymous says

Just snagged the trip bag and wallet myself.

  28. Anonymous says

Jon, Try again. Hopefully you’ll get someone else. I did it this morning on a Marled Blazer that I’m going to get in the mail later today and they honored it. Good luck!

  29. Bbarr says

    April 20, 2011 at 3:58 PM

I ordered that as well. Paired with a leftover $50 sears gift card it came to around $64. I sized up based on the reviews. Even with some tailoring, that’s a steal.

  30. Williebeamon80 says

    April 20, 2011 at 3:58 PM

Before I ding LEC for not having tall sizes, are there other guys 36/37 arm length who have purchased shirts and/or jackets from this site? Any cautionary tales?

  31. armac says

    April 20, 2011 at 4:19 PM

Careful when you buy the chino blazers! One detail that ruined it for me was the lining, the lining is also cotton chino material which means that your shirt sleeves get caught when trying to put it on. It was a big ordeal every time I put it on because I had to fuss with pulling my shirt sleeves down underneath the blazer…horrible, I ended up just throwing it away.

  32. Todd says

    April 20, 2011 at 5:23 PM

I was just at my local Sears and the LEC section is running a 60% off almost everything sale. So if you have a B&M nearby I would recommend heading over there first.

  33. Chris says

    April 20, 2011 at 5:29 PM

Great post, Joe! Quick question that I don’t think has been asked: I want to pick up the Marled Blazer, but also want to jump the $75 free shipping threshold. If it’s true that it counts the pre-discount subtotal, I would need $11.01 to jump it. Any ideas right around there? I was looking at the Griffin Crest tie or a couple crewneck tees. Might as well get something instead of paying $10.95 shipping!

  34. Ryan Edmonds says

    April 20, 2011 at 5:53 PM

Their jackets have working sleeve buttons, so tailoring isn’t even an option. Don’t do it!

anyone know if this will be honored if i go to the store?

  37. Greg says

    April 20, 2011 at 8:24 PM

I don’t know if this helps, but I purchased the gray jersey blazer from them a little while ago. The sleeves are WAY too long for me. I’m going to get them altered and it should be good.

  38. VanillaBrice says

    April 21, 2011 at 12:24 AM

I wear a 36/37 and have a few shirts from LEC. I ordered the XL and the sleeves fit great, but the body doesn’t fit that closely and im not small either 6’3″ 245 lbs.

John J Stollenwerk of Mequon WI, donated $13,000 to Scott Walker, Wisconsin temporary Governor and in listing Allen Edmonds Shoes as “Employer” placed Allen Edmonds shoes on a boycott list. Objectors to the inclusion cite the lack of Corporate donations, which was not the criteria so they stayed on the listing.
