Lands’ End Canvas says thanks… with $100 Giftcards

April 6, 2011 By Joe | Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. Also, we take your privacy rights seriously. Head here to learn more.

Win one of four $100 Gift Cards to Lands’ End Canvas

Three days in a row of coverage?  To the victors go the spoils.  Small spoils, but still…

By now you know that Lands’ End Canvas won our inaugural Store Wars contest.  And for that incredible support they’d like to pass along some thanks, which is very true to L.E.C. form.

$100 can go far

This is the same company that includes a thank you note with your first purchase.  You have to admit that’s quite sweet of them.  But a $100 gift card is sweeter.  By far.  And L.E.C. would like to give away four $100 gift cards right here on Dappered to show their appreciation for all those kind words that showed up in the comments, as well as the votes that were cast in their favor.

Get entered in the comments section below by simply mentioning an item or two you’d like to pick up from L.E.C. if you were to win one of the gift cards.  Need some ideas?  These all add up to around $100:
.

Lands’ End Canvas Oxford in Gull Grey Stripe – $24.99 (reg. $39.50)
Grey stripe = looks good plus it's on sale.

Bought this recently and you can wear it half a dozen ways.  Nice mid-weight oxford fabric, a button down collar, and a tail that’s pretty close to just right.  Could be slimmed down a little at the sides, but not baggy.  Super comfortable.

.

Lands’ End Canvas Poplin Pocket Square – $9.50 or Gingham Pocket Square – $6.99
Just keep the rest of your outfit pretty quiet.

Wearing pocket squares for the hell of it can be a little weird at first.  Even after a few go-rounds it can still feel odd.  BUT… most will get used to it, and it looks great.  Especially now that spring is showing up.

.

Lands’ End Canvas Men’s Marled Blazer – $63.99 (reg. $129.99)
The shirt says Christmas, but the blazer can say April.

At first glace it seems out of season, but if you wear it at night with a lighter colored shirt?  You’ll be just fine until it goes from warm to hot.  And you’re set for fall too.  Three buttons, not two, and the sleeves might run a little long.

Enough horsing around.  I know you guys want to get entered.  Do so below by dropping in a comment with what you’d like to get from LEC with the giftcard.  Four winners will be drawn at random.  One entry per person please.  Deadline for Entry is Thursday 4/7 at 11:59 PM ET.  Top photo credit: Dappered reader Poolboss who’s also keeping track of how his Timberland Earthkeepers wear on flickr.

UPDATE: Congrats to our four winners – Jeremy K., Justin A., Daniel L., and Caleb M.  Thanks to everyone who entered.  Also a gigantic thanks to Lands’ End Canvas for providing the gift cards.

I’d love the Heritage Striped Chambray Workshirt.

  2. Joe Caldwell says

Both the Marled Blazer and navy Chino Blazer’s been on my “to buy” list for a couple of months now. Still waiting another couple of months to get back from Iraq to start shopping.

  3. Rich says

I’d go for the slim fit chino. The real temptation is to get it in “vintage brick”. Most likely I’d wind up getting one of the other colors.

Man – I’d love to get a chino blazer!

I’d probably get that Heritage Oxford Shirt. Seems fitting for this wave of hot Cali weather.

Not quite the same, but I’ve got a pair of Nantucket reds I sometimes whip out and they wear great all the time. I’d grab the brick if I had the opportunity to give it a shot.

I’ve had a list of items, some I’m just waiting to go on sale at the same time so I don’t pay a butt load in shipping…
    – Gingham pocket square (blue and green)
    – Heritage Harrington Jacket (navy)
    – Navy mockneck pullover
    – Heritage Oxford (blue and white)
    – A couple of pairs of their striped socks
    – At least a couple different ties
    And I could go on…

I’m 6’2″ with what I consider normal arms and only weigh 150 lbs but the small fit me near perfectly, even in length. Mine still can be shortened a bit in the sleeves though to show more shirt cuff.

Things I did grab: White canvas lace-ups, blue and white heritage polo shirts, and a pair of relaxed fit heritage chinos. If I had another $100? Black marled blazer, or put it towards the canvas 1963 trip bag.

At least one of the plain Herritage Oxfords (I own one and love it). They also have a very casual chambray tie. Just got my latest order including the slim fit chinos. Great overall, although the waist is a little big. I’m going to exchange them and size down an inch. If that works, I’ll definitely consider buying the other colors.

  251. Aliotsy says

I’d probably pick up a straight collar poplin shirt and at the risk of being er, unoriginal, I really do like the marled blazer you posted about up top and would probably pick that up too. I need a good blazer.

  255. Jacob Lee says

Button-down collar dress shirts – I can’t seem to find them anywhere, but I love the way the work with a tie when I see them on tv.

Shorts – I’ve lost about 40 pounds in the last year, and need some nice, grown up shorts for summer casual events.

  259. Gert B. Frome says

Pretty much anything from the Heritage Collection. I usually look/feel like a tool when I try to wear a blazer with jeans or chinos, but that Chino Blazer has the right amount of casual that seems to work. I have a pair of their slim fit jeans, which are actually slim fit, not hipster jeggings. Classic style with a more modern cut is what I’m all about.

I quite like the striped silk tie, the stick umbrella, and the gingham poplin buttoned shirt. Normally I’d go for one of the blazers, as well, but I’m quite hesitant to buy a blazer that I can’t try on first.

I was just scolding myself for not grabbing a couple of those pocket squares a few weeks ago when they had free shipping going on, and I like the look of their oxfords and the chambray tie.

And an example of how far $100 can go with LEC: The other week I grabbed 2 pairs of chinos, a fabric belt, and a pair of white canvas shoes for $26 in an end of season sale…. so if you hit it right, $100 can really go far.

A smooth 100 quid would find me well, as all of the month’s disposable income is…well…indisposed. I’ve had my eye on that handsome stick umbrella for sometime, finally accepting that that my Southern California is not forever and always a perennial land of sunshine and that I’d be well-served to outfit my winter wardrobe accordingly. Following a less tardy seasonal impulse, I’ve come to covet a snug size 31 of the Majestic Navy Plaid swim trunks which would replace an old pair featuring a yawning Velcro crotch that has seen better days (but never more illicit sunlight). Finally, several gingham pocket squares might just complement my best suit in a manner that will cause upcoming job interviews to end fortuitously and thus augment greatly the amount of disposable income on hand to shop at a fine, award-winning store such as Land’s End Canvas in the future.

I bought the denim jacket a few weeks ago and get compliments all the time. When I received my hand-written thank you card, I knew I wanted more things from LEC. Right now, I’d like to get somep ocket squares and the nautical sweater.

Poplin shirt and a denim jacket to make the wife happy.
I could also live with some of those pocket squares.

I love LEC’s style, but even size small shirts and sweaters have been huge on me (I wear an xs from jcrew), so I would have to stick with some nice accessories – pocket squares, ties, etc.

In need of some new oxfords, which I’ve always been happy with from LEC. The chino blazer looks nice, but I’ll need to try it on in the store first. I’ve had mixed results with their blazers.
