I know. I know. It’s Old Navy. And a lot of guys just can’t bring themselves to buy & then subsequently wear anything from that store. For some it’s more difficult to walk into (thanks to the usual lot of crying kids…) than the high school cologne fest that is Abercrombie & Fitch. But here’s the argument for making a purchase there:
It’s all about fit, and sometimes, it’s a little about layering. And when you get your blazers tailored in at the sides? Everything underneath looks better. Plus, you can always size down. Here’s a key few pointers for the above articles of clothing. From Left to right, with code ONBIG30 discount applied.
- The Button Up – $10.50 (reg. $24.50) It’s strangely hard to find a white, plainly striped casual button down. This one has a button down collar too, so you won’t have to fight non collar stay points from flying off. Order your usual size and have it brought in, or size down. But know if you size down the wrists will get super tight.
. - The Chino Blazer – $34.65 (reg. $49.50) By now you’re probably aware that some of us have a certain affinity for these things. See the praise for their wool mix blazer here, and a full review of their chino here.
. - The Cotton Svest – $10.50 (reg. $15) The reviews online complain of an extra bulky fit. No kidding, it’s Old Navy. But on the other hand, I just bought a medium (the size I usually wear) off a clearance rack and it fits perfect. Clean through the sides and everything. Maybe still order a half size down with this run?
. - The Cord Blazer – $17.48 (reg. $49.50) It’s a two season blazer, but it’s also $20.
Put more than $50 worth of merchandise in your cart, pre-code I believe, and you’ll get free shipping. Which is nice because if you don’t like, say, all of it? You can return it to your local Old Navy for free and be out exactly $0.00
