Move over INC Linen Suit, you’ve just been replaced as the best summer suit under $150.  The Dillards house brand Murano is geared towards fit guys who like their pants flat front and their polos trim.  Right now their Murano Baird McNutt Linen Suit is on sale for $120.  A whopping 50% off.

First the Fabric:  The linen is thicker than the INC suit and made from real Irish Linen (J. Crew uses the same mill for their Linen Ludlow).  The construction of the jacket and pant is strong, giving you the feel that this is a substantial suit that’ll still keep you cool when it’s broiling.

But the cut is really where this thing takes off.  It daggers in at the sides and a medium jacket fit me (5’9″ 165lbs) perfectly.  Zero tailoring need.  The arm holes are also set as high as any I’ve ever seen.  Banana Republic should take note… this is how a suit should be built if you want to slip on a jacket and have it move with you, not constantly tug at your sides if you dare to lift an arm.

Both the Jacket and Pant have a thin line of darker shaded linen which acts as tonal piping along some of the edges.  This subtle piping runs along the the lapels, pocket flaps, and even down the outside seam of the pant.  It’s a terrific detail that’s not over the top for a summer suit.  It’s understated, but still really unique.

The suit on Dillards.com doesn’t match the three I saw in store because those that I saw had no ticket pocket.  Unfortunately, gray (pictured above) is also not available through the web.  But white and a cool brown are.  There’s not an abundance of time left to wear a summer linen suit, but at just $120, you’re looking at a small investment on a suit that’ll deliver a huge return.

That is a nice looking fit. I checked online, but it seems they are already out of medium in either colour.

I’ve heard of Murano before, but i never tried it on and i didn’t know that it was a trimmer line. I’ll have to try it out next time i’m at dillards.

The gray really is worth seeing in person. Murano makes some great pieces, but sometimes they make stuff that’s just too much. Too modern, looks like it tries too hard. This suit ain’t one of those.

Why are there three pockets on the website? that looks odd

It’s a ticket pocket. Looks good on a lot of jackets.
