As soon as an affordable designer goes from plain to stripes, they get all freaky. It’s like 1996 all over again, and it usually ends up with a ridiculously busy pattern with way too many colors.
It’s like they’re working off some whacked out formula:
(BMI < 25) + (Age < 55) = (# of different colored stripes on shirt > 3) + (# of different stripe widths > 4)
And that’s bad style math. What you want is a slim fit mainly white shirt, with slim stripes.

It’s the right choice to wear with a charcoal suit and black tie. The blue stripe gives it just enough color.
