Dad’s don’t actually like getting gifts. It’s like they’re allergic to being thanked. When asked if they’d like anything for Father’s Day they almost universally say: “Well I don’t need anything.” And that’s precisely why our continuing Father’s Day Gift Guide is full of nothing but “wants.” All are pretty affordable, all are easy to find, and all will show the Dad you’re buying for that you appreciate him.

The Globe Trotter: T.H. Rolling Duffel – $112.00 & Carry On – $72.00 | Born Kilbury – $100
The Luggage: The Tommy Hilfiger Fieldhouse Luggage Collection was rumored to have been discontinued a few months ago. I can’t believe there’s still some pieces available. They look incredible, they hold up okay (my duffel has been well traveled these last few years) and you can’t beat the price. Poly/Canvas sides with leather accents. $71.99 for the weekend duffel, $111.99 for the large roller. Unbeatable price for the looks.
The Shoes: Laces and the line at TSA don’t mix. You want something you can easily slip on and off while waiting at the metal detectors. The looks and solid construction of The Born Kilbury mean the wearer’s feet will look and feel good while getting to their flight. Some wear running shoes to the airport in case they’re late and have to book it. Get their early so you can relax, and wear better shoes. These are them. (Also Available in Brown)
.
The Still Fit Dad: Wigwam Ironman Socks – $12.00 | Casio G-Shock Ana/Digi – $63.74
The Socks: Wigwam makes socks for Ironman Triathletes. Wigwam also makes their socks in Sheboygan Wisconsin. There’s no bunching or clinging with Wigwam. They’re also designed to be anti-blister. Plain white cotton socks can be hell to run in thanks to bunching and rubbing. These don’t do that, & they’re made in the U.S.
The Watch: Proof that you can wear an analog watch while working out. It might be a little bigger than those E.T. inspired techno pieces most exercise freaks wear, but it’s well worth lugging around an extra ounce or so. G-Shock tough, resin band so it won’t stink, good looking enough to wear with a t-shirt and jeans.
.
The Jackass Step-dad or Father in Law: A pack of his favorite smokes – about $5.00
The Cigarettes: He likes to smoke, you don’t like him around. He’ll appreciate the gift, and it’ll most likely help rid you of him in the short term (heading out back for a smoke) and the long term (dirt nap).
Happy Father’s day to all of the great Dad’s out there. Hope you have a good one…
