How to Write a Thank You Note

Crane & Co. Pinstripe Thank you Cards – $16.00 for Ten

When somebody does something nice for you, really nice for you, you should want to thank them.  A Thank You note should never feel like an obligation.  And when one of your friends or colleagues lends a hand, or gives a gift you most likely don’t deserve, nothing displays your gratitude more than an actual honest-to-goodness it came through the US Mail Thank you Card.

Here’s how to do it.  Get some nice stationary.  Like these Pinstripe Thank You Correspondence Cards from Crane & Co.  They’re simple, clean, and well built enough (hence the price) that they’ll feel terrific in the hands of the person you’re thanking.  If someone really did something nice for you, you can afford $1.60 for a proper card.

Keep it brief.  But be genuine.  Tell them how much it meant to you (assuming that it did) and specifically mention the deed or gift you were on the receiving end of.

Stamp it and mail it.  Even if you see them every day or live just down the street.  It’s the process of a traditional thank you that will really show your appreciation.
