Pottery Barn Square Decanter – $25.00 Yes Pottery Barn is obviously targets a female demographic… but… you’d be surprised at the quality and look of their bar ware. And the affordability factor is dead on as well. Having a choice liquor out of the bottle and in a shiny decanter like this one just gives it a different feel. Does it do anything to the taste? No, I can’t imagine that it does. But what makes a better piece of functional decor than some seriously good booze in a great looking glass decanter? At $25.00 this decanter is a can’t miss gift for you or someone else.
Topman Brown School Satchel – $60 The Previous “upgrade your workbag” post featured a Kenneth Cole Portfolio that was gone pretty quick from their website. So, with that… here’s another. Topman is a website that delivers some stuff that’s a little too-hip-for-the-room for my tastes, but… there’s plenty of toned down options on their site as well. If you’re looking for a simple, leather-like work bag, this could be a good fit for you. Again it has a handle on top for those from the car to the office walks… as well as a shoulder strap for those across downtown walks. Simple lines with the handle on top. It’s not leather so it could be flimsy… but hey, it’s $60.

Original Penguin Men’s Flat Line Polo Shirt – $34.99 Polo shirts can be boring. But they go with everything. Original Penguin has found a way to balance the totally boring solid, with the somewhat busy striped polo… with a (wait for it) mainly solid polo with just one stripe. They do say that necessity is the mother of invention. Anyway… I think $35 for one polo shirt is actually kind of steep, but Original Penguin does use some good fabric that stretches a bit when you move. Better than those thick knit polos that feel like you’re wearing a heavy blanket. And no, I don’t think it’s worth an extra 10 bucks to have the “right” logo on your shirt. But the Penguin is kinda cool.
Good, dependable, red wine for ten bucks.
