Amazing quality materials. Armageddon proof construction. Walking the line between field-ready rugged, and urban slick. Extremely well thought out design. Those are the hallmarks of the small, Florida based leather goods maker Form Function Form (or more accurately, Form•Function•Form). And it’s that last one, the meticulousness that is invoked in creating each new wallet or watch band or whatever, that means they don’t just put out new goods because the calendar has turned to a certain page. So when they do debut a few new items, they’re absolutely worth a look.
The Archslim in Latte. Give it to me now.
For the old-school analog types (say, those who love wearing a watch because they don’t like pulling out their phone just to check the time) it’s the new Archslim wallet that’s gonna be the star of the show. Based on their hugely popular Architect Wallet, they lightened up the weight on the leather to make it less noticeable in your jacket or jeans pocket, and added three exterior card slots for easy access. That reversed, suede side up design detail is brilliant. Meanwhile, they also added a new size of notebook to the options. Instead of just the Moleskin extra small volant, the Archslim is now available with a more generous, but still slim, Rhodia A7. That particular notebook is getting closer to a Field Notes size, but isn’t quite as big. Riding shotgun in its own dedicated holster is a Fisher space pen in either matte black, polished brass, or silver. Your choice.
And the leather. Good grief the leather. It’s Horween horsefront, and it comes in either black, dark brown, Natural Chromexcel, the famous #8 shade of burgundy (which can look reddish in some lights, and almost black in others), or the light tan “Latte” shown in this post. And it’s that Latte shade that’s gonna cause a lot of eyes to bug out in aesthetic-appreciation when you get out your wallet to pay the check.
Shown with the larger, but not quite Field Notes large, Rhodia A7 notebook.
The new “Nighttime” wallet is a perfect everyday carry for the minimalist, or, a backup for when you want to go lightweight with just a card case, or, a card case and moneyclip to a big event. Same Horween horsefront colors to pick from as the Archslim. Same reverse sided design cue. Two card slots up front, and a brilliantly placed center slot, almost hidden, right at the top to store cash if you so choose (so you could even leave that money clip at home).
Left: The Nighttime. Perfect for those with minimal EDC, or, nights out on the town.
Branding on each is subtle and minimal. An “F” crowned with their three dots is placed in a lower corner on each. Shipping is free both ways, and their return and exchange policy is quite kind.
Over-expedient over-expansion has crushed many a business that otherwise would have been enormously successful. Form•Function•Form seems to be sticking to the strategy of doing what they do, as best as they absolutely can, and not forcing the issue in pursuit of a quick buck. But when a new idea does come to fruition from the FFF guys, like these new wallets or their brand new ladies line, then it’s hard not to wonder about their potential for growth.
The pace at which that success accelerates is up to them. And they sure seem to know how to smartly work the throttle.
Enter here to win either the Nighttime wallet in Burgundy, or the Archslim in Latte, both shown in the post above. We’ll draw two winners. First winner gets their choice between the two. Second winner gets whatever the first person drawn didn’t pick. One entry per person. Deadline for entry is 11:59 pm ET 12/1/16. Many thanks to FormFunctionForm for sending along these two wallets for review and giveaway!
