Spier and Mackay is based in Canada. Yet, according to the Spier & Mackay promo email that was sent out earlier today, those of us in the states now make up their largest customer base. Nifty. And as a thank you to us down here in ‘murica, they’ve dropped the price on their off the rack suits to $299 with the code THANKYOU through Sunday, 10/23.
That’s… pretty spectacular.

The color is their almost out of stock, and not up for the code (since it’s on sale), “light grey” from last season.
Of course it depends on the exchange rate, so prices might fluctuate (and your credit card / bank might ding you with a foreign transaction fee). But the bottom line is that you can now get a half canvas, wool suit, with a bemberg rayon lining for the same price as a fused J. Crew Factory Thompson in wool.
Normally Spier and Mackay Suits seem to run in the $330 – $360 range, depending on whether they’re running any bundle buy specials or not. And at that cost they’re already a very, very fair price.
What about returns? Returns used to be a pain, being that you had to shell out to ship it back across the border. But it appears they’re sticking with their new-ish policy of free returns for new U.S. customers on their first suit or sportcoat purchase.
Full review of their contemporary fit can be found here (they also make a true slim fit). A before & after tailoring side by side can be found here. And here’s how their navy suit stacked up with the competition, during our best navy suits round up.
So yes, at this price, they’re certainly a steal.
Carry on.
