40% off Banana Republic, GAP, Old Navy, w/ Limited Exclusions

COZY = 40% off at Banana Republic, GAP, and Old Navy

Gap INC. is coming for your wallet. Hard.

30% off is standard. 40% off is extra nice. 40% off with hardly any exclusions? That’s just about unheard of. Tack on free 2-day shipping as long as you trip the $75 threshold (and you can use products from all three brands to do so) and this COZY code ends up being one of the best promos to come along in a while.

Frankly, don’t be surprised if BR starts tagging plenty of their newer stuff / sportcoats / outerwear / etc. with the “BRPICKS” exclusion at some point tonight or tomorrow. But for now, as of post time, just about everything is up for the code aside from Traveler Jeans. Off we go with picks across all three of GAP inc’s brands. And a warning. Being that this sale is a bit of a rarity, we’ll be focusing on the stuff that usually gets excluded. So the picks might lean pricey here…

B.R. Standard Fit Grey Cotton Sportcoat – $138 ($230)

A light grey sportcoat is the secret weapon for many a man’s wardrobe. Easy to wear with jeans or chinos, and it’s a way to brighten up the cold weather wardrobe without going with a bright color (or, any color.) Standard fit here. Subtle herringbone pattern.

B.R. Wool Slim Jacket / Pant or Stand. Jacket / Pant – $341 ($568)

Banana Republic does a really nice job with their (fused) suiting. Only problem is that they rarely go on sale to the general public. But now? Not bad. Not bad at all. The fabric is quite nice. Super 120s Marzotto Italian wool shell that’s 99% wool and 1% elastane. Lining is a mix of poly and rayon. Buttons are non functioning. A really nice suit. And the fact that they make both slim and “standard” fits is a big plus. Shown above is a Standard Fit 40R w/ a 33/30 pant on 5’10” / 185lbs.

GAP 1969 Straight or Slim Fit Cords – $38.97 ($64.95)

Four fall ready colors that aren’t the standard, brown boring cords your western civ. professor wears. Available in either slim or straight fits.

B.R. Louis Chelsea Boot – $106.80 ($178)

Of course these are here. Full review this way. TL;DR: I really liked them and they fit my feet great. But not everyone has had that experience. Meanwhile, if you want some other fit perspectives, check out the guys on threads who are currently discussing these things.

GAP ORIGINAL 1969 Straight Fit Jeans – $35.97 ($59.95)

Just a pair of jeans in deep, dark blue. Might sit a little low for some tastes, but the straight fit should accommodate most frames that can’t comfortably get into slim or skinny jeans. All cotton here. No stretch. Size shown above is a 33—30 on 5’10″/185.

B.R. “Drake” Double Monk – $76.80 | Alex Chukka – $88.80 ($148)

Couple of smart casual shoes with potential for fall. Haven’t seen that new double monk in person yet, but it appears to have more of a traditional silhouette? That might be perfect for jeans and cords.

B.R. Slim Camel Wool Blend Sportcoat – $150 ($250)

Another newer arrival that surprisingly is getting the 40% off cut. 64% wool. 35% nylon. 1% elastane. Made in their true slim fit, so, beware if you’ve got some heft up top. Should do fantastic with jeans.

B.R. Dark Grey Windowpane Sportcoat in Standard – $150 ($250)

Even though there is a slim option in what appears to be the exact same fabric, only the standard fit is getting the code applied at post time? Strange. Anyway, nice, all wool shell that moves easily (it’s not a thick, heavy tweed). Acetate/Nylon blend lining. Subtle pattern, but still enough pattern to be interesting. Very, very slight bits of color in the lines (a faint blue and barely there rust color). Patch pockets. Sleeve buttons ARE functional. Shown above is a 40R Standard Fit.

GAP Vintage Wash Slim Fit Khakis – $35.97 ($59.97)

A true slim. Not skinny, but if you’ve got some strength down there, you might feel a bit constricted. Good color selection. Interesting texture to the mid-weight chino fabric. Almost like there’s a bit of a slub to it? Certainly not a lightweight fabric, but not overly dense or thick either. Sometimes excluded from codes (but not in this case) since they’re khakis. Size shown above, middle, is 33—30 on 5’10″/185.

B.R. Curtis or Xavier Sunglasses – $58.80 ($98)

Another example of the width and breadth of this promo. Sunglasses are almost always excluded. And while BR’s shades are nice… a hundred bucks is still kinda steep. Just under $60 is more like it.

GAP SLIM Fit Merino Wool Sweater – $35.97 ($59.95)

Haven’t caught these in person yet, so, I can’t confirm nor deny the slimness of the fit. And as has been stated before, it’s gonna have to be a hell of a sweater to switch some of our allegiances from UNIQLO, when it comes to easy to layer Merino V-necks. But still. Worth a mention.

Banana Republic Mac or DB Trench – $150 ($250)

Timeless coats for transitional seasons. Both are available in a standard khaki, or black. Might have to sit tight and wait for the BR Picks label to come off these things.

GAP HIGH Stretch Slim Fit Jeans in Resin Rinse – $41.97 ($69.95)

Yes indeed. Jeans at GAP aren’t excluded here. GAP’s version of big brother BR’s traveler jean. Fabric composition is 85% Cotton, 13% Polyester, 2% Elastane. So they’re more engineered than your average pair of 97% cotton / 3% spandex jeans. Perfect deep, dark shade of blue.

B.R. “Shaw” Italian Leather Lace-Up – $88.80 ($148)

Not half bad, for a really well done, basic blucher. All rubber sole is slim but still provides grip. Brown option is a perfect, middle-of-the road, do anything shade. A nice shoe for guys who don’t wear dress shoes that often. Sizing might run a half size small.

GAP True Wash Gingham Standard Fit Shirt – $29.97 ($49.95)

Just a shirt. But a nice shirt. A nice, deep navy gingham on a lighter weight poplin button down. Could wear tucked in, or, untucked if that’s your thing. Doesn’t dip overly long. Shown above is a medium.

Old Navy Built-In-Flex Slim Fit Khakis – $25 ($39.94)

Excluded from the code being that they’re an “Everyday Steal,” but, they’re currently just about 40% off (actually 37.5%) on regular sale. 97% cotton. 3% spandex. 4.7/5 stars after 97 reviews. Not bad. Also available in a straight fit, albeit in not nearly as many colors to pick from compared to the slims.

B.R. Dean Burgundy Leather Lace-Ups – $88.80 ($148)

Full review here. Some might not be in love with the lighter, almost teal-like inset in the insole. But other than that, they’re a nice, soft leather shoe that’s off the beaten path but still in shouting distance of that well worn style trail.

GAP 50% wool / 50% Nylon Textured Mock Cardigan – $47.97 ($79.95)

GAP’s wool/nylon blend from year’s past has been a real favorite. Especially when they knit it in some sort of textured way, as is the case here. Now, not everyone is down with the mock neck. No worries if you’re not. But it is an awfully good way to swap out that old, ratty hooded sweatshirt you often default to.

B.R. Slim or Straight Rinse Kaihara Selvedge Jean – $90 ($150)

For the denim heads. Dark wash jeans made from denim sourced at Japan’s famous Kaihara mill.

B.R. Italian Leather Briefcase – $118.80 ($198)

Are there a ton of pockets inside of it? No. Is it heavily structured? Not really, the leather is super soft. Is it still one of the best looking and feeling briefcases you can buy for around a hundred bucks? Absolutely. Full review here.

Old Navy “Sateen” Blazer – $44.96 ($74.94)

Yep. Gets another mention when it’s that cheap.

The 40% off at BR/GAP/Old Navy + Free 2-day shipping at $75 code COZY expires tomorrow, Wednesday 9/21.
