What are you going to wear? Sometimes it’s good to look at a few suggestions then add your own tweaks and ideas. That’s what these are for. Say a friend texts inviting a group out for pints in an hour. Even though it’s nothing fancy, there’s still nothing wrong with presenting yourself with purpose. You never know who you might run into there. Here’s an outfit to get that done while… waitaminute… why is their a lager in a Guinness glass? May Zeus bless the traditional pint glass, but that just looks strange.
The Shirt: H&M Long Sleeve Cotton Shirt in Khaki – $24.99. Knowing H&M, this shirt is probably going to be pretty lightweight, which in summer heat is welcome. But the color will transition easily to fall, and that lighter fabric will lay well under a v-neck merino sweater (say, light grey or navy). Fit is regular, but the model doesn’t look like he’s swimming in it. It is H&M after all. And can you wear it untucked? You bet. And here’s how to roll up those sleeves.
The Pants: AEO Extreme Flex Original Straight Jean in Dark Rinse – $54.95. This is the time of year where we start to get a taste of fall. Even if it happens to be after the sun goes down. So now might be the time to reacquaint yourself with jeans. Full review here, of these jeans that are a cheaper alternative to the BR Traveler. Right now AEO denim is by one get one 50% off, so if you were to buy 2 pairs, price per pair would be $39.
The Belt: BeltCraft “The Titan” – $59. Not the cheapest belt on the market, but BeltCraft gives a good explanation as to why their products are premium. Plus, they’re made in the US, and the head belt-maker is a 3rd generation leathersmith. Kind of cool.
The Shoes: Allen Edmonds Mojave 2.0 Chukka Boot – $189.97 ($350). That’s a screaming deal on those boots. Boot season is almost upon us, but desert boots can be worn year round (if they can be worn in the desert, they can be worn in the summer). If olive ain’t your thing, there are plenty of other colors to pick from.
The Socks (not shown): Whatever you care to wear. Just not white gym socks. Grey, navy… don’t overthink it. You’re going to a bar. Not the Met Gala.
The Wallet: Mr. Lentz Minimal Leather Wallet – $60. If you’re a guy that prefers to fold your bills in half before stashing them away, this wallet was designed for you. Another product handmade here in the good ol’ US of A. Not all budgets will allow for indulgences like this, but for some, it’s worth it. Of course there are a lot of lower priced imported wallets out there.
The Watch: Jack Mason Nautical NATO Strap – $92.49 ($185). Checks off all the boxes in the looks department. 42mm, with a quartz movement, and 100 meter water resistance. Nice circular date window too. Also offers Super LumiNova on the indices and hands. And no, you don’t need to worry about your watch strap not matching your shoes or belt here. Why? It’s nylon. Not leather. So you’re good.
The App: Uber. Or Lyft, or the cab company you like if they provide an app (or even if they don’t, and you have their number stored in your phone). If you know you’re likely going to drink over your limit, don’t be a dumbass. Use your head BEFORE you drink enough to not plan well. Listen, we love it when one of you guys refers this website to a friend. We could use all the readers we can get. So losing one to an alcohol fulled incident is less than ideal. Be safe out there.
