This is about as good as it gets for J. Crew Factory. Already much, much cheaper than big brother J. Crew, with not too big of a drop off in terms of quality, those of us on a budget can really make some wardrobe hay when they stock up their clearance section, then drop a fat extra 40% or 50% off code.
And that’s just what happened.
Plus, not all of it is final sale. Actually, most of is ISN’T final sale. (THURSDAY MORNING UPDATE: Looks like, overnight, the JCF team switched this stuff up to final sale. Hat tip to Connor on FB for the heads up. Luck was with those who got in on this, yesterday, when the post launched.) So you should be able to still return it if it doesn’t fit/look right on you? CLEARIT expires on Sunday. Off we go with some picks, which, as always, are limited to items that had at least a decent size selection at post time, unless otherwise noted.
Well that’ll do. Shown above is last seasons’s slub linen in grey, so this year’s “saltwater grey” might be just a bit different. Obviously works just fine as a stand alone, warm weather blazer, although it is fully lined (in acetate if memory serves). They do have the matching pants, but sizes are pretty limited if not all but sold out, and only offered in the kinda-tight “slim” fit.
Just the “dusty mint” shade is final sale. The others, which are priced at a surprisingly low $15, aren’t final sale. Big fan of these things. Even have the dusty mint. Easier to wear than you’d think. And the cotton is a true lightweight. Perfect for the dog days. Measurements above indicate the leg openings. Sutton = a straight or slim/straight to some. Driggs is a true slim.
Don’t want an entire suit? Then why not just the pants? They’re oxford cloth, so they should go well with polos (ahem) and lightweight sport coats. Just know that they are a true slim, so the burgeoning quadzillas out there might have a hard time getting in them. Description calls this shade “English Grey”… which looks like a light blue. To me?
One of the few items that appears to be a final sale, no-returns-accepted item. But the risk is low. And they aren’t quite as eye-popping green in person. Size above is a 33×30 on 5’10” / 185.
Tees with a bit of visual interest that don’t cross over into wacky-graphic territory. All cotton on all of em’. And the trimmer JCF slim fit is nice to have as well.
Another dirt-cheap, decent summer suit. Sure we’re two months past the derby, but there’s still plenty of seersucker weather left. One drawback: the jacket is fully lined. So it still might be a bit steamy in the more swampy environments. Still, a tough price to beat.
Remember the old Letterman gag “Will… it… float???“ Right. When it comes to these belts, it’s more of a “Will… it… grip??” Many of these types of belts slip slowly throughout the day (or worse, quickly, as soon as you put it on). So, who knows. Could be worth a shot though if you’re over or close to a $100 free shipping threshold.
Not sure why these are labeled as “slim” since the leg opening is 15.5″… but that extra room is good for guys who appreciate air flow, and/or have bigger lower bodies. Crazy cheap for a pair of warm weather, dressier pants. The linen in the mix should help dress them down if you so choose. That navy glen plaid could be a real winner with a white polo and brown loafers.
An easy, beachy sweater to throw in the bag for the long weekend away.
Speaking of getaway bags… but read the reviews. Very mixed results with this thing. Some have had real issues with it falling apart, others have had it hold up reasonably well. 2,320 cubic inches of space. If you want something less risky, try this list for alternatives.
In the same ballpark, looks wise, as the seersucker, only with slimmer stripes and minus the pucker. If you like the idea of a summer suit, but think seersucker is too southern dandy, then this is a safer play. Fully lined though. And again, really wish JCF would make more of their suit separates with regular fit pants. Not just the slims.
The 11″ “Rivington” shorts aren’t final sale, but the oxford shorts are. Also, don’t let your monitors play any tricks on your eyes. The Rivington is a “seafoam” shade, so, a bit of green in there. The oxford shorts are a versatile grey pinstripe.
It’s a tote, people. Not much else to say about it. So this is where I’ll let you know that while I still have my lower wisdom teeth, I don’t have my top pair any more. Had those pulled a while back, and it turned out I was the last appointment on a Friday, it was a tougher job than they had anticipated. They had to use a bone saw to get the first one out, and the dentist (a petite woman) didn’t have the arm strength to get the second one out. So, we had to reschedule for the following Monday when the other dentist was in the office (a bigger dude) and he could crank down a bit harder. And no, I wasn’t offered the gas on either trip. Now, who says Joe from Dappered is too anonymous and doesn’t share enough personal information to connect with the readership?* Eh? Chew on THAT. Just make sure you have the teeth to do so.
This extra 50% off clearance items code CLEARIT is set to expire on Sunday, 7/10. *Also, the anonymity is on purpose. This website has always been, and should always be, more about you guys, and less about the headless mannequins on the other side of the screen running the joint. The internet has enough websites filled with pictures of dudes trying their damnedest to look cool for the camera, no?
