Quick Picks: Land’s End 50% off 1 item + Limited Canvas Sale

FLAGDAY + pin 1125 = 50% off one reg. priced item

6/15 UPDATE: Bad news? The 50% off deal is now over. Good news? It’s now 40% off (which isn’t bad at all), and you’re not stuck to ordering just one item. 40% off, but they have to be regularly priced stuff. Use code BEST and pin 8100.

Pretty sure it’s fair to say that Lands’ End is in a state of transition. At least, that’s the way it looks from the consumer side (and if they aren’t, and they don’t want to be viewed that way… well… then something needs to change).

There’s the new Canvas line and their can’t outrun the love of turtles “circle” membership. Meanwhile, their main line has some better looking, better fitting pieces compared to the past. Yet they still make some very, very traditional, almost normcore goods. Lands’ End is a lot of things right now. And I have no clue which direction they’ll eventually head in.

But half off is very solid, even though it’s limited to just one item, and it has to be regular price. Some of their Canvas goods are on sale too, albeit for just 20% off, and the code/pin won’t work there for extra discounts. Code FLAGDAY and pin 1125 expire today, 6/14.

Canvas by Lands’ End Rugby Stripe Crewneck Sweater – $59.99 ($79)

Yep, it has in fact gone on sale. Further codes and promos don’t seem to apply though. Mid-gauge knit, a slim fit, and big bold stripes. Perfect with summer weight chinos for a cool, early morning with coffee and a book/the paper. (Photo credit.)

Tailored Fit, Partially Lined Wool Blend Regatta Blazer – $99.00 ($198)

Super soft construction that’s also surprisingly flexible and springy. Body is a 55% wool / 45% poly blend, but with that polyester comes plenty of stretch. Plus, the knit of the fabric is on the looser side. Almost pique like. So it seems to breathe quiet well. Field-tested it in mid 80s and it did just fine. Might not be good for super sweltering days though. Butterfly lined back in chambray. Sleeves feel like they run a little long, and the sleeve buttons ARE functional. Size shown is an unaltered 40R.

Tailored Fit Supima Oxford Hyde Park Dress Shirt – $24.50 ($49)

Check out that nice collar roll. Tailored fit. Supima cotton. A basic, but a well executed basic.

“Modern Fit” Cashmere Crew – $99.50 ($198)

Spendy? Yes. Fantastic? Yep. A perfect, mid-weight cashmere that should work year round and look especially good in the spring and summer thanks to those stripes. Super soft and strong feeling fabric. After a few months of more than frequent wear, it’s showing no signs of piling or stretching out. Probably the best thing Lands’ End has on their site at the moment. Size shown above is a medium on 5’10″/185.

Lands’ End Cashmere V-Neck – $89.50 ($179)

And now their plain cashmere v-necks. Ninety bucks ain’t cheap, but if the cashmere is the same quality as the Breton Stripe crew, and the fit is the same (and it appears to be the same according to the description)… then these might be a real nice value at ninety bucks. Especially considering competing cashmere at this price point from the likes of J. Crew and UNIQLO seems to disappoint if you read the reviews. Available in tall sizes too. Just a heads up: Looks like these are WAY backordered. Till… October? Really? Toddler not included.

Club Stripe Elastic Surcingle Belt – $19.50 ($39.50)

Preppy, stretchy, and easy to wear with all kinds of warm weather lower-half-covering apparel (like, y’know, shorts or pants). A roller buckle style that clocks in just under 1.5″, so, not overly bulky.

Canvas by Lands’ End Seersucker Trousers – $78.99 ($99)

Another item from the revived Canvas line that’s getting a small cut. Spendy, but if you’re on the lookout for lightweight, cool, seersucker chinos in something other than the standard white and blue (or grey) stripe, then they’re worth a shot. Slim fit here, so if you’ve got beefy legs, might want to tread carefully.

Cotton Breton Stripe Drifter Crew – $29.50 ($59)

Not gonna be as soft as the cashmere crew, but boy is it a ton more affordable. A good sweater to throw in the weekender if you’re heading up to the mountains for a few days.

Baird McNutt Linen Houndstooth Sportcoat – $109.50 ($219)

The bummer here is that it is fully lined. Which kinda stinks, when you’re dealing with a fabric that’s as breathable and lightweight as linen. Pardon the Morie, won’t you?

Flat Front Tailored Fit Wool Year ’rounder Dress Pants – $44.50 ($89)

Well loved by many. Nice, lighter weight merino wool. Lots of colors to pick from and you can have em’ hemmed before they leave the warehouse. Just be warned: there’s not a ton of room in the seat. So if your box jumps and squats have produced some badonkadonk, your glutes might end up shrink wrapped in well-priced merino.

Straight Fit Lighthouse Chinos – $24.50 ($49)

A basic chino in more than a few different colors. Got a two star review from one dude who was upset that they don’t offer custom hemming on these more casual pants. Didn’t seem to have anything to do with the quality.

The 50% off one reg. priced item code FLAGDAY and pin 1125 expires today, 6/14/16.
