Note: If you’re a cardholder, that jumps to 30% off with the code CARDSONLY. Codes expire Friday May 20th, with the free shipping offer requiring no code, but expiring today.
Maybe you’ve got plans for a long weekend coming up and need a new swimsuit. Or, your chinos are looking a little worse for wear. Maybe you stuck to your New Year’s Resolution and all your warm weather, light layers now fit like a wall tent. Whatever the case, this is the time of year where most of us take stock of our warm weather wardrobes from last year, and notice they could use a refresh. So not bad timing, right?
Also know that the free shipping offer, good through today, helps. Because while 25% off isn’t a world-beater, if your purchase is on the less-expensive side? That goes a long way. Getting a $50 sweater? That $5 in shipping charges you aren’t paying is like an extra 10% off of the total, real cost. Sadly, usual exclusions seem to apply here. Summer-weight blazers are out, as is almost all suiting. Got it? Okay then. Off we go.
Listen, just because it says they’re a “classic” fit doesn’t mean they’re your Pop’s ballooning Haggars. The 1040 is straight through the hip and thigh and does taper, albeit a little, to a 15 3/4″ leg opening. Good for dudes who don’t skip leg day, yet aren’t Quadzilla either. The 770 fit narrows to a 14 3/4″ leg opening (based on 32×32 as usual.) Many a color to pick from, but the “seascape” shown above is downright perfect for the season ahead. And again, this is where the free shipping no min (through today, 5/17) makes a nice difference. $56 feels noticeably different than $61 with that regular shipping charge. And yes, this is where the smart-arses would say “Noticeably different? Feels almost like a FIVE DOLLAR DIFFERENCE.” Got it. Sure. Yes. But, feels. ALL. THE. FEELS.
Goodness. That texture. They sure seem to know how to make dynamite cotton or wool cardigans with a bit of texture to them. The kind of sweater you throw on once the sun dips below the horizon, the breeze picks up, and the sipping rum makes an appearance.
Many brands make seersucker button downs for summer, but it’s tough to find ones that are cut in a true slim. These are a true slim. More than a few shades to pick from, including that bold red and white.
J. Crew’s update on a classic buck. A sleeker, less clunky toe, suede uppers, and a red-brick sole. Available in the sahara (shown here) or a perfect, goes with anything (even jeans) grey. Full review of the Kenton buck can be found here.
The best of both worlds for plenty. Not a true trunk, but instead a board short with a perfect, not too long, nine-inch inseam. Plus, these have a mesh liner for kielbasa containment (you can’t stop the keilbasa, you can only hope to contain the kielbasa).
Two warm weather friendly fabrics, in the slim (but not their skinny) fit that should please most. Irish linen chinos are actually a blend of linen and cotton, so they shouldn’t wrinkle quite as bad as all-linen chinos might.
Easy to wear spring & summer ready belts. Another item that looks even more tempting on those days, such as today, when there’s free shipping no minimum.
Sometimes you just need a button down. But in the warm months, a thicker OCBD isn’t the best play. These claim to be lightweight, yet the reviews are all over the place. Some say they’re not lightweight. Some say they’re almost see-through. The hell? Still a bit spendy feeling for just a button down.
Can’t really tell what the “texture” here is, but if it has more of a rough, linen-like feeling? Or a slub? That’d be great. Just not a squishy cotton. Not good for the warmer, more humid months. Could be a terrific, budget alternative to the LE Cashmere crew. A new arrival. Also shown at the top of this post.
Just like their bucks, minus the laces. Be not afraid of sleeker than average penny loafers! They’re pretty easy to wear.
Something worth having on hand if you live in a place that gets really friggin’ hot in the summer. So hot that a polo or tee becomes a sponge a few minutes after you put it on.
An utter and complete splurge. Maybe the not-so-normal groomsman gift necktie? Not your average tie, say, from TheTieBar. Cashmere, made in the USA, and the knit has a raised, checkerboard pattern to it.
Boot horns are great because there’s less bending over to get int your loafers (and, as the name suggests, they’re great for getting boots on too). Meanwhile, a small shoehorn is a great thing to have for on the road, or, if you’re the type to hit the gym pre-work. Stash that cognac leather horn in your bag and you’ll get into your shoes post lift/cardio/cross-training much easier.
Been waiting for this thing to go on sale forever. And finally it has. It’s a basic cotton-cashmere crew, but those stripes, and the extra blocking of navy at the traps/shoulders makes it look that much more athletic.
These are lurking in the sale section, and while 25% off sale items isn’t so hot (usually it’s 30% – 40%), these are reduced enough already to make em’ tempting at $135. Limited sizes available at post time. Goodyear welted.
There’s an 80% chance that 40% of the salsa on that chip you’re trying to shove into your mouth falls onto this sweater the first time you wear it. Chunky cotton. From the upgraded, Wallace & Barnes line.
The extra 25% off (30% off for cardmembers) code SUMMER expires Friday the 20th. Free shipping no minimum expires today, 5/17/16.
Weekend update: JCF drops the price on those suede boots to under $80 (final sale…
Fall textures. Smoothly suited. Dark and sleek. Etc.
