Yes, J. Crew seems to be perpetually running a 30% or 40% off sale items code. But it appears their sale section has a few favorites from their fall/winter line, and there’s a decent size selection for most. Combine that with the fact that winter was a bit late arriving this year, and now’s the time for many of us to capitalize on the discounted cold weather gear we couldn’t get use out of a few months back.
Careful though, most if not all of this stuff is FINAL sale. So no returns. Picks, as always, are limited to items that have at least a decent size selection at post time.
UPDATE: If you’re reading this on Wednesday, it looks like they dropped prices overnight (the post launched yesterday, Tuesday 1/12.) Many thanks to M. Taft for sending in the tip! Prices below have been changed to reflect that further drop.
Very professorial. But not nerdy. Something that Dr. Indiana Jones might wear while teaching class. More subtle in person than what J. Crew’s images project. 75% wool and 25% nylon Italian cloth. Half lined. Shown above is the Crosby fit in 40R, but it’s the Ludlow that’s on sale.
Good for the guys who wear mostly dark, solid coats and jackets. Perfect for those same guys who left their gloves in the cab on New Year’s Eve.
A little more weight and depth than merino, but still in the well appreciated J. Crew slimmer cut. A basic, yes, but a basic that’ll fit the in-shape guys much better than a standard cut.
Started out at almost half a grand, and now way down to $162. Get a load of that ticket pocket too.
Yes, the holidays are over, but there’s still plenty of winter left. Why not get some use out of it before you stash it away for the warmer months? Sadly, the forrest green option is all but sold out.
Bit of a geographic gap. Italy + Fair Isle? Lotta continent in between there. Not an all over print, but sticking just to the upper chest/shoulders and around the hem. Something that won’t look too out of place away from the holidays.
Gonna be tough to find a better deal on J. Crew’s do anything Dock peacoat. You can get it in any color you’d like, as long as it’s Charcoal.
Two shades that’ll easily go with most coats. (Got a navy coat? Get either… Got a camel coat? Go with the navy.) Super soft cashmere. Like everything else, they’re final sale, but… well, they’re scarves. Sizing shouldn’t be an issue.
A standard lambswool shawl collar at a decent price. Bird’s-eye jacquard pattern and leather buttons. Lots of sizes available at post time.
It’s called a University coat because it’d be at home on a college campus. Simple but still good looking, unpretentious and warm. Chest high hand warmer pockets are a bonus. Casual enough to wear with old jeans and sneakers, but good looking enough to dress up for a date. Extra 50% off with the code.
A warning on these: They do run a bit big. So if you like your sweaters to be super close (or, more tailored than more traditional sweaters), then beware. They are a bit boxy, and you might want to consider sizing down if you’re on the fence. That’s a tough call with final sale though. Nice quality. From their upgraded Wallace & Barnes line.
More of a transitional layer than a dead-of-winter-holy-hell-it’s-freezing-out coat. Snap cuffs, and pretty sure this one has dual vents in the rear? Again, any color you want… as long as it’s black.
Not a bad price for what should be a good fabric, substantial shawl collar cardigan. Perfect for around the house. Sizes are going quick though.
