Note: Huckberry has been kind enough to offer a 20% off code for any brand new customers, and it works on these boots. Code DAPPERED20 would knock em’ down to $319.98. It should work site wide, with only very limited exclusions (like, some of the mattresses they carry) and expires 10/31/15.
There are a lot of good looking, tough, classic work inspired boots out there. So standing out among the rest is going to be hard. But Huckberry’s collaboration with Maine’s Rancourt & Co. is just different enough, in a few key, just-right ways, that in a herd of good looking boots clamoring for your feet, the “Knox” boot is going to be the leader of the pack for plenty.
Shown here in Horween’s Color #8 and on a wedge sole.
The guys at Huckberry set out to create a boot good looking enough to be dressed up a bit, yet tough enough to handle some serious workload. All while being comfortable enough for extended wear. And it sure seems like they did it.
The toe on the Knox is purposefully sleek. Not clunky like many other brands and models. And instead of a ton of broguing or stitching, they went with a simple, triple stitch cap toe. Up close that stitching is perfect. Uniform, and clean. A cap toe puts the focus on the leather, and they’ve used some of the most eye catching stuff available. Namely Horween’s versatile color #8 (burgundy), or the tan-leaning Natural Chromexcel.
Great grip & cushioning with a shape that does it all.
Instead of a Goodyear welt, Rancourt uses a Blake Storm Welt for protection from the elements as well as extra flexibility. And the soles are no ordinary soles. They’re “Lactea Hevea” natural latex soles from France. Lots of traction, and lots of cushioning. Think athletic shoe squish and bounce all while still blending in to the uppers.
These boots are NOT cheap. Far from it. But they’ll last and go with everything casual to smart-casual in your closet. Available with either the more workwear-looking wedge sole shown here in this post, or a standard classic-heeled sole. Made in Maine.
