And they do mean everything. Been trying a few different items that almost always get excluded (suiting, blazers, 3rd party goods) and J. Crew seems to be serious here. They ALWAYS exclude stuff. Sometimes it feels like they exclude a majority of their inventory. But that’s not the case here.
Alden and Alfred Sergent shoes are getting the cut. So is suiting. As is their new legacy blazers. It does appear that they’ve removed a few things from their site, but that stuff is few and far between. You gotta hit $125 to use the code, but the discounts are pretty serious if you’re in the market for a splurge. On with the picks, but know that some of this stuff is probably gonna go out of stock quick…
Standby for a full, in depth review coming Monday, but for now? It’s good. Real good. Super 130s extra fine merino wool and half lined in the back. Top stitching around the lapel and pockets (instead of the more dressy pick stitching or no extra stitching at all) helps it to look more like a sportcoat than an orphaned suit jacket. Size shown above is an unaltered Crosby 40R on 5’10” / 185.
Bench-made in England, Italian leather, and a Goodyear welt. Extremely impressive, even if you’ve got to shell out $350 WITH the $175 off discount.
Worsted wool suits are about as versatile as it gets. Available in a medium charcoal or navy, and cut from wool sourced from Italy’s Lanificio di Tollegno mill. Full review of the Crosby version can be found here.
Sizes are going fast. Interesting that they left these up, but appeared to take down many of the other Alden shoes/boots they usually have on the site. Maybe the shade of suede is just too light for most tastes? Made in the USA.
Didn’t expect these to ever come off their list of exclusions, but here we are. Kudos to the designers for adding the deep green “forrest” option this year. Single button, shawl collar, has all the sezexy.
This might be one to sit tight on if you can. It looks like they’ve put this on sale, so if they run an extra 30% or 40% off sale items code in the next few days, you could get it for much less. Meanwhile, if you pick up something that’s around $50 – $70, you’ll tip that $500 balance, and your entire purchase will end up costing less in the end.
Not usually excluded from other codes, but still worth a mention. Partially unconstructed, and it looks like the back is half lined. Subtle herringbone pattern. Abraham Moon Mill wool/cotton fabric. Patch pockets on the lower half with a welt at the chest. A total staple that should see a ton of work between now and late spring. Works out to about 25% off. Also available in navy. Shown above is an unaltered 40R on 5’10” / 185lbs.
Good gracious look at that thing. And at 20″ x 10″ x 14″ (2800 cubic inches) it’s not some super tiny, dinky thing either. Decent size for most of us to use. Made in the USA. Vegetable tanned leather.
The cold weather is coming, and nothing feels quite as good on a bitter cold day than a flannel suit. Now down to Suitsupply-like prices, but unlike Suitsupply, these have non-functioning sleeve buttons. Much easier to tailor. Sizes are a bit scattered on the Ludlow fit. Both are available in the navy shown above, or a warm charcoal.
Sturdy boots in a slightly unexpected but not obnoxious “dark moss” shade of suede. Made in the USA. Vibram outsole. Code works nicely on these to drop them to an even two hundred bucks.
Camel is growing in popularity, and not just for topcoats. Ludlow fit and partially lined. Just do try and keep your shirt collar from… poking out under your, um, turtleneck, which is under the blazer? Interesting layering strategy there.
A little less expensive alternatives to the Allen Edmonds Dalton or First Avenue boots. Goodyear welted. Horween CXL uppers on the cap toes (nice surprise to see that), and Italian leather on the Wingtips.
The $25 off $125, $75 off $250, and $175 off $500 code EVERYTHING expires today, 10/30/15.
