Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
Not a sale that’s going to set the world on fire, but that EXTRA 25% code, when lumped on top of already end-of-season markdowns, can make for some steals. Lots of warm weather sweater options here, with both the cardigan and the shoulder button sweater (modeled after nautical sweaters from the past) getting solid reviews. 100% cotton on each of them.
Good news and bad news here. You can get some Made in the UK beauts for $199 via Haberdash’s website, but they’re ALL final sale. And final sale shoes are risky. If you’re not familiar with how Loake’s fit, you might want to reach out to their customer service team via email: cs@haberdashmen.com , or dial them up at 888-544-0585. All styles that are on sale appear to be made on Loake’s Capital last. More on that shape here.
The (Obvious) Pick: Orient’s Symphony Automatic – $87.00
Think of the Symphony as The Bambino’s flat-crystal cousin. So simple, so clean, and so… unexpectedly inexpensive. Under ninety bucks for a timeless automatic? Sure. 41mm case size, mineral crystal, and comes on a brown leather strap. Many thanks to S. Cortez for sending in the style tip!
The pick: Ludlow Italian Linen/Silk Suit Jacket + Pant – $487.50 ($650)
Seems like we’re in some sales-doldrums, doesn’t it? Not one of J. Crew’s most mind-blowing sales, but there are a few items in there that are worth a glance or two. If you’re getting married this summer (or, have a few warm weddings to attend), and are looking for a suit that’s got a little bit of flash, but won’t stand out for the wrong reasons… then maybe this linen/silk number? The strength of silk is something else, and injecting a little into a linen fabric might make for a big difference. Herringbone pattern. Perfect, warm weather shade of grey. Code SHOPNOW expires tomorrow, so, expect some sort of extra % off sale items code to maybe come down?.
There always seems to be an extra 30% off code or sale going on with Last Call, but 40% off isn’t quite as common. Lots of NM house brand stuff to dig around and take a look at, plus those brogued-up, Made in Spain double monks will raise some antennae. Code LOVEMOM expires today, 5/7/15.
The Picks: Allen Edmonds “Cap-Toe Oxford” or Mora 2.0 – $288.75 ($385)
Just tested out the code and it does appear to be working on the Allen Edmonds shoes that Club Monaco carries. They don’t call those oxfords “Strands” because they’re a Club Monaco / AE collaboration, yet they call the double monks the Mora 2.0? That is, in fact, the model. Probably safe to say there’s not much (if any?) difference with those walnut strands? Maybe a slightly different insole, kinda how Brooks Brothers has a different insole on their AEs? Code expires Sunday.
