Also good for 40% off clearance. Watch out for final sale there. Code expires today, 1/12.
The J. Crew Factory Thompson suit separates are probably the best $250 suit on the market. The fact that they’re now more like $200, if not under $200, for the first time in months is gonna make some ears prick up. Sure they’re fused, but they move incredibly well. They’re either all wool or mostly wool. They’re usually lined in acetate, which is a step up from a scratchy, suffocating polyester. They’ve got non-functioning sleeve buttons, so they’re easy to tailor. And the pattern is basically lifted from the Ludlow. Soft shoulders, slim lapels, contoured off the rack.
They’ve also been excluded from promos, and stuck in the $250 – $300 range for months. But this HELLO code, which is good only today (1/12) is knocking 30% off. Plus, there’s free shipping no min. So picking up something super cheap, say just a shirt or sweater, is a good call. No extra $5 for shipping this time. Off we go.
For whatever reason, the regular fit pants are less expensive than the slim pant. So that’s why there’s two prices up there ^. Both under two hundred bucks though. Double vent jacket. Great button stance. Size shown here is a 38R on 5’10” 165lbs. Full review over here. Charcoal options are pretty pricey right now, and with the discount they’re still at the usual mid $200s range.
Think pinstripes are a little too rigid/white collar, and you can’t dress em’ down? Nah, it can be done. This is one of those suits that’s light enough in shade, and subtle enough in striping, that you could even go tieless if you wanted to. No slim fit pant option on this one. Just the straight fit.
Not as good of a price as the navy, but still not bad for a Thompson suit. More spring/summer in shade, especially with those very light brown buttons. Got a spring or summer wedding coming up this year? Now’s not a bad time to get something in house and tailored for that big day.
Like their suits, these boots are usually excluded from codes as well. Not today though. The less fortunate man’s Clarks? Not that Clarks are expensive, but these from Factory are way down there. Quality might be suspect though. Big fan of that grey suede.
A basic that’ll look good under a casual blazer, a v-neck sweater, or on it’s own with the sleeves rolled up in the summer. Washed & relaxed fabric. The free shipping here is key, being that another five bucks in shipping charges would have been an extra 20% of the total purchase price.
A good ol’ quintessential weekend bag. Throw some clothes in it, stash it in the trunk (or the overhead compartment) and take Friday off. 2300+ cubic inches of space. Three colors to pick from.
Cheap. Casual. But not a complete punt stylistically. Nice line of stitching across the chest on the varsity stripe tee. And an off-white cotton henley is as classic as it gets. Now, where’s my scorpion jacket?
Woulda gone with the Jomers… if they would have been in stock. Slim & lighter grey, or straight fit and darker grey.
Entry level into the casual briefcase world. Quality is so-so, but it hits a lot of the right points. 15″ wide. Plenty of pockets. And those dual top grab handles are key. A standard messenger (with no top handles) can get awkward, quick, when walking into work. You’re always having to sling it over your shoulder and/or your head. There’s a removable shoulder strap here in case you bike to work/need to be hands free, but those top handles sure do come in handy. One day, the Filson Original Brief. For now, on a budget, this’ll do.
There are days that call for a long sleeve t-shirt, a favorite pair of jeans, and some sneakers. Nothing more. Ten bucks here, ships free.
Lettin’ them pits breathe. Super cheap. A little boxy, but it’s outerwear. Great for quick trips on those warmer than normal, muddy days, where a peacoat or topcoat would be too much. Also available in navy or black for $48.65 with the code.
Honorable mention for this year’s Dappys. Ships free too. Usually you’d get nailed with another five dollars for shipping since it’s under a hundred dollars, but not today. Has dipped into the $70s before, if memory serves. Review over here.
This 30% off / 40% off clearance & free shipping no min. code HELLO expires today, 1/12/15.
