Brooks Brothers 40% off Accessories & Suits/Sportcoats

6 Days of Giving: Day 1 = 40% off Accessories & Select Suits / Blazers

It happens every year in December. Brooks Brothers links together six, one-day sales, and they’re usually one of the highest % off you can get all year on those goods (without having a Brooks Brothers credit card or stacking other offers). Today, December 3rd, is day number one. And they’re starting off with a pretty good sized bang.

40% off most if not all suits, blazers, and sportcoats, and select accessories (Filson is out this year… drat). Seems like selection is kinda picked over in some categories, but they’re flush in others. Also, they’re offering free standard shipping on all orders. Not bad. That’s pretty rare, and a big help, since Brooks Brothers shipping is usually steep. Deal expires today though, so… off we go…

Regent Fit High Performance Blazer – $328.80 ($548)

Cheap? Hardly. But you get a lot here. Cut in their tailored Regent fit, this thing is made from an Italian (Barberis) wool/mohair blend that’s crease resistant and does well all year round, has a half-canvas construction, is 3/8 lined (awesome), and has mother of pearl buttons and side vents. It checks all the boxes.

Navy BrooksCool® Suit in Regent or Fitzgerald Fit – $418.80 ($698)

Don’t brush off these “BrooksCool” suits as inferior simply because of their lower (for Brooks Brothers) price point. They’ve been hailed in the past as durable, comfortable, year round work-horse suits that with discounts most guys can afford. The regent fit claims in the description to have a “full canvas construction.” Many more colors & patterns to pick from over here. What’s the difference between Fitzgerald and Regent? Here’s their quick visual guide (which doesn’t help much), and here’s more specifics.

Green and Burgundy Striped Ribbon Belt – $28.80 ($48)

Summer style with fall/winter friendly colors. Perfect with jeans and a sweater. Brook Brothers ribbon belts have always been fantastic. They seem to hold their grip, they come in a number of different shades… but the shipping has always been asininely expensive. It’s a damn belt. Throw it in an envelope, slap some stamps on it. Thankfully, with the free standard shipping offer, that’s not a factor now.

Fitzgerald Fit or Regent Fit 1818 Suits – $598.80 ($998)

Their flagship. Super 110s Italian wool, Made in the USA, half canvas, and plenty of attention to detail. For the guys out there who are in suits day in and day out and need something that won’t be too flashy, but still hold up. You can get these for less, but you gotta be willing to work the system a bit harder (see the bottom of this post over here). Still, just under $600 for one of these seems fair.

Brooks Bros Aviators – $78 ($130) or Club Master – $57.00 ($95)

With the discount, both of these are now landing firmly in the all-too-rare for sunglasses mid double digits range. Brooks Brothers branding at the temples of the Club Masters. Aviators claim to be made in Italy. According to a review on the Club Masters, those are made in China.

BB#1 Repp Card Case – $46.80 ($78)

Preppy. Very, very, preppy. Made in Italy. Ships free. Maybe a business card holder?

Quilted Duffel Bag – $268.80 ($448)

It’s either an interesting/stylish departure from standard duffel bag exteriors, or, cringe worthy. One of those two. Also, with the from-above shot seen here, is anyone else having visions of Wart from Super Mario Brothers 2?  TURNIPS! FEED THE BASTARD MORE TURNIPS!

Fitzgerald Fit Cotton/Wool/Silk Sport Coat – $298.80 ($498)

No where near as versatile as the Regent fit high performance blazer, but the cotton/wool/silk blend from Italy’s Lanificio di Pray Mill sounds intriguing. Fitzgerald fit here. Pattern doesn’t seem too loud either. Has been hanging out in the clearance section, off and on, at this price already.

Cashmere Knit Gloves – $58.80 ($98)

Luxury knit gloves? Sure. Why not. If you’re not the type to wear dressed up leather gloves all that often, and don’t like driving gloves, then why not go for knit? Especially when they’re 100% cashmere. Leather palms for grip.

Plaid / Tartan Luggage Tags – $22.80 ($38)

Perhaps an easy-to-execute, ships free, different enough stocking stuffer for the well dressed traveler on your list? Or, maybe you’re headed somewhere this year yourself and wouldn’t mind an extra easy way to pick out your bag on the carousel?

Golden Fleece Embossed Card Case – $58.80 ($98)

Even for the logo-haters out there, it’s tough to argue with the simplicity and sorta-kinda-sexiness of the tonal embossed golden fleece pattern on this card case. Not cheap, but cheaper than usual.

Lawyers Small Briefcase – $538.80 ($898.00)

(Takes wallet out of back pocket, throws it across the room behind a cabinet)

Snapper Lace BB#2 Cuff Links – $135.00 ($225)

From the site: “Recreated from the classic style of 1920s’ cuff links. Click open and snap shut. Silver-plated. Made in the USA.” … well. damn. (starts digging around behind that cabinet across the room for the wallet)

The 40% off select Men’s Tailored Clothing & Accessories sale expires today, 12/3/14. No word on when the free shipping on all orders offer expires, but you’d have to think they’re doing this through the holidays?
