Bonobos Jetsetter Blazer in Standard or Slim – $398.00
Consider this week five days of saying thank you. Without your readership, your emails, your terrific comments, and your willingness to spread the word, Dappered wouldn’t exist. The collection of good guys who frequent this corner of the internet is by far the greatest achievement of this website. And to say thank you, we’ve put together five, splurge-worthy giveaways that’ll hopefully express our gratitude. Welcome to Dappered’s Reader Appreciation Week. Good luck, and thanks a million.
You could buy a ton of different blue and/or navy blazer’s for your wardrobe, each with a different purpose. A super casual cotton blazer with tons of rumple, a traditional brass-button wool number for the more dressed up occasions, maybe a clean chino for wearing with jeans, and a smooth wool that’s been cut trim for nights out on the town.
Or, you could buy one blazer that does most, if not all of those things, in one simple package. The Jetsetter from Bonobos is one of those blazers. Not cheap at full retail, but highly versatile, plus Bonobos does run sales every so often.
Size shown: 40R in their standard fit, on a 5’10” / 180 lb frame
Lightweight but not flimsy, the fabric is a 70% wool / 29% cotton / 1% elastane blend which should be a great companion on the road, and a go-to workhorse in the stable that is your closet.
There’s a bit of texture to the fabric, and when combined with the patch pockets, there’s no confusing it for an orphaned suit jacket blazer. No (cheesy to some) brass or gold buttons are necessary then, and sleeker, more modern medium to dark brown buttons get the nod. Button stance is slung in the on-trend lower-ish position, and the tail seems shorter but not wildly chopped.
Dual vents in the rear help make it easy to move in, the non functioning sleeve buttons make it easy to tailor, and the Bemberg lining keeps it draping nice, while offering breathe-ability. Official word on the interior construction is “light use of half-canvass but is fused“. But it certainly isn’t stiff, and it moves pretty well. Must be a hybrid-type of deal in there.
Up close with the wool/cotton fabric, & non functioning sleeve buttons.
Wear it with jeans. Wear it with trousers. Wear it casually to a bar, on a flight where you want to be comfortable but not sloppy, or to a big event or meeting where a suit might be overkill. It should look not only right, but good, real good, in all of those situations.
Enter here to win a Bonobos Jetsetter Navy Blazer in your size. Standard or slim, that’s up to you. One entry per person. Deadline for entry is 11:59 pm ET 9/13/14. Thanks to Bonobos for providing this brand design for Reader Appreciation Week.
UPDATE: Congrats to Chris M. from South Bend who won the drawing for the Jetsetter blazer! Many thanks to Bonobos for providing one of their newest blazers for Reader Appreciation Week.
As one of those folks who does indeed find gold/brass buttons to be cheesy, I really like the straightforward look of this jacket- great way to end the week.
Not too much a fan of the exterior pockets but in the navy its pretty sleek.
This looks like a slightly dressed-down version of the non-brass-button J Crew Ludlow blazer of two years ago. I have that one but I’m sure I can find a use for this one too, if I win.
Was looking for a patch pocket navy blazer. I’m in
Back when I had no idea about fit, I got a Jos Bank 40L navy blazer. My brother-in-law needed to borrow it a couple years ago; it fit him far better, so I just gave it to him.
Been without ever since. This is wicked versatile and comes in a slim-fit 38L? I’m excited. Entered and hoping!
And there it is. Five days of things I didn’t know I needed, but now I have to have. Thanks, Joe.
Nice looking blazer and thanks for a great week on here Joe…If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of jeans are those? I am in the market for a new pair of denim.
This is a great looking blazer. Where’s a Bonobos 40% sale when you need it?

Hell of a week guys…thank you Dappered!
And the slim fit is a true slim. That’s one of the things this Bonobos (and other Bonobos) blazers have going for them. The standard is trim, the slim is actually slim. Nice to have those two options.
It’s a very old Hilfiger that Macy’s used to sell. Got it like three years ago I think? Sadly, they don’t make that collection anymore. Perfect size (probably 2500+ cubic inches) too.
I concur.
Just an FYI, don’t let the “standard fit” description fool you – these jackets are cut pretty trim, especially through the shoulders and chest. I wear a 36R in most other brands but for Bonobos’ standard fit, I’m more comfortable in a 38R. I have a couple older 36R Bonobos jackets sitting in the back of my closet that get no use because they are just too snug to be comfortable or flattering… remnants of my past self’s “the best fitting jacket is the smallest size you can worm yourself into” philosophy, plus the few extra pounds of fat and muscle I’ve packed on in recent years.
That said, the 38R navy seersucker number I picked up on sale last month is one of the best-fitting jackets I own aside from my Suitsupply Havana. Just need the sleeves shortened up a bit.
Can’t comment on the Bonobos slim fit since I’ve no experience with it.
$400 seems really, really pricey for a fused jacket.
Fantastic looking jacket. As an avid fan of Bonobos I couldn’t recommend them enough, especially for men with an athletic build.
Love Bonobos blazers and suit jackets… so this would be a welcome addition.
Wow. Want. Thank you for this week!
Nice, clean, great looking blazer. Keeping my fingers crossed!
How about that belt?
very nice!
Nice thanks
I haven’t won yet, now would be a good time….. just putting that out there.
Awesome week.Thanks to everyone!
could use this for my trip to louisville
Yes, I’m in for the slim.
Looks like it could be a perfect addition to my wardrobe.
Agreed, as a younger guy, I get a can’t help but feel a little bit of “costume” vibe when I wear my blazer with gold buttons. This jacket looks pretty sleek.
