Bonobos “Up to” 35% off Tiered Sale – July 1st 2014

Hang on now. Nobody soil their washed chinos just yet. Two key words up there ^. “Up” and “to”. So 35% off? Probably ain’t gonna happen. In fact, you’d have to spend almost a cool grand (post discount) to see those kinds of savings. This is one of those tiered code sales, where at different levels, a new discount kicks in. Here’s the first four thresholds & codes:

• $10 off $75 w/ SPARKLER
• $25 off $150 w/ SNAPS
• $50 off $250 w/ CHERRYBOMB
• $125 off $500 w/ FIRECRACKER

And there are more, but for the sake of the post, let’s just stick with the $500 threshold. That means you’re spending at LEAST $375 at Bonobos. And if you’re dropping almost four hundred at Bonobos in one fell swoop… well, really appreciate your readership of course, but that seems like a ton around these parts. If you ARE going north of $500, just keep adding stuff to your cart until a new code pops up. (For the record, the code that gets you 35% off is GRANDFINALE … and that’s $525 off $1500+. Holy smokes.)

Is $10 off $75 earth shattering? Nah (it’s only 13.33% if you hit $75 on the head). But site-wide codes at Bonobos are rare. Know that most of the picks below are already in the sale section. Prices in parenthesis indicate what items were/are going for at retail. Let’s see what can be done…

 

Grenson Bert Lace Up – $250 w/ CHERRYBOMB ($375)

Was listed at $375, but now in the sale section at $300. Lots of sizes left too. Code knocks another $50 off and you end up with a pair of English made, goodyear welted, nicely grained oxfords. Pretty much the definition of standing out quietly. Word from Bonobos is to size down a full size on these. Almost all sizes available at post time.

 

Linen/Cotton Suit Jacket + Slim or Straight Pant – $310 w/ CHERRYBOMB ($450)

Not a bad price for a Bonobos summer suit. Baird McNutt 61% Linen / 39% Cotton fabric. Also available in khaki for the same price. Already on sale. Was $450 before sale. After sale + extra $50 off you’re looking at just north of $300.

 

Navy Seersucker Suit Jacket + Straight Pant – $200 w/ CHERRYBOMB ($400)

With the sale prices, this thing hits the $50 off $250 threshold right on the nose. The slim option of the pant & jacket aren’t quite so code friendly. Would be terrific for one of those late afternoon ceremony / evening reception weddings. Style scenario for that to come tomorrow.

 

Grey Oxleys (Slim or Straight) + Indigo (Slim or Straight) = $131 w/ SNAPS ($196)

Normally $98 a pair, they’re already on sale for $78, and drop to $65.50 a pop if you buy two pairs. Or, just buy one pair, use SPARKLER for $10 off, and you get that single pair for not much more ($68). Lots of sizes at post time. A summer staple for a few of us.

 

Seersucker Suit + Navy Knit Tie + Pocket Square = $375 w/ FIRECRACKER

Here’s how this all shakes down:

$400 Founation Seersucker Suit + $68 Italian Knit Tie + $32 Linen Pocket Square = $500.

Apply FIRECRACKER for $125 off $500, and you end up with $375. Is $68 pricey for a knit tie? Is $32 ridiculous for a linen pocket square? Maybe. So skip those two and just knock $50 off the suit w/ CHERRYBOMB and it comes out to $350. If you think the tie + pocket square are worth the extra $25 total, post code? Then hit that $500 threshold on the nose and use FIRECRACKER. (Note: Probably want to skip the pocket square with the seersucker suit. It’s busy enough.)

Usually $88 per pair, their flagship pant drops to $71.33 IF… you buy three pairs and apply the $50 off $250 code CHERRYBOMB. Yeah, that’s a lot of pants, but if you’re looking to add a bunch of basic, soft, well fitting do-anything casual chinos to your wardrobe, then maybe now’s a decent time to invest. They are now making these without the colorful/patterened/butt-cheek-attention-drawing rear pocket liners.

 

White Oxleys in Slim Straight – $68 w/ SPARKLER ($98)

Yeah… you ain’t eating salsa while wearing these things. Already on sale for $78, which is right above the first threshold.

 

The Splurge: Grenson Tyler – $295 w/ CHERRYBOMB ($345)

Wrapping up how this thing started, only with a shoe that’s (sadly) not already on sale. Yeah, it’s a blucher, but man oh man is it a stand-out. Medallion on the toe, pinking and perfing at the back, but not on the vamp. Bit of a freak, but it should look good with everything from suits to jeans.

This Bonobos tiered sale, w/ all those codes, lasts through today, 7/1. One last note: Depending on stock, if the item you’re looking at is on sale you might be able to get a bigger discount if you hang out for one of their every-so-often extra 20% off sale items codes. Just depends how expensive it is (for example: $50 off exactly $250 is 20%. $125 off exactly $500 is 25%).
