The Eliminator – Five from Huckberry
Here’s how this works: Each day we’ll eliminate one item until only one is left standing at the end of the week. Vote for the item you’d LEAST like to own in the poll at the bottom of the page. The item with the most votes gets eliminated at the end of the day. The item that remains at the end of this battle royal will be won by one of you, via an enter to win post firing off on Friday.
About Huckberry: It’s not easy to stand out in the world of flash sale websites, but Huckberry does it. With an emphasis on the outdoors and active lifestyle gear, they nail the upscale-rugged thing. Also, their sales are often filled with made in the USA goods. All of these items are either currently available, or, have recently been available through Huckberry. May the best item win!

These are all terrific items, and many thanks to Huckberry and the brands for being on board with The Eliminator. Voting closes at 11:59pm ET.

How does “enter to win post firing off” work?
It’s too early to call this one, but RIP Filson. 🙁
After reading the comments yesterday, I changed my mind. While the S&P bag is awesome, the Filson is way, way more practical and useful, while still being very nice. I voted down the S&P, (even though I assume it’s not going to win).
As did I for the same reasons.
Same here. I think part of it just might be the psychology regarding what each item cost. Each day, the item with the lowest full retail cost was the one eliminated. Joe should get the Dappered statistics and analytics department to run the numbers on past Eliminator contests to see if this is the overall pattern.
I LOVE that Pilot’s bag but I don’t fly much. That Filson brief will be used no less than 3 days a week. So I had to vote to eliminate the Pilot’s bag. And I wanted that bag the most at the beginning of the contest but the Filson is just more practical.
I don’t think its always the most valuable one that wins, but it would be interesting to see. For me its almost that I don’t think I’d ever splurge to buy the pilot’s bag, but would love to have it. I probably travel just enough to make it worth while.
I might get more use out of the Filson bag, but I can also see myself buying one someday. The pilots bag is something I really want, but would never buy. Therefore, I want the chance to win the pilots bag.
Sadly I agree with the rest, Filson looks better/is more practical but people are just voting for the expensive, shiny thing.
Without knowing the price, I would definitely still vote for the Pilot Bag. *Personally* I wear a suit to work most days and have so far held off buying a good leather bag from Far Horizon Traders, Jack Spade, etc. I already bought a canvas bag from Target as a cheap way to meet my needs, and although not nearly as nice as the Filson, it does the trick. What I don’t have is a nice leather bag I can take to work instead of the canvas one. So at least this one vote has nothing to do with price.
it’s the S&P bag that wins it for me. a couple of trips with this thing and it’ll be weathered and travel hardened.
it was a tough choice, though. the filson and S&P serve different functions, so it was hard to compare on a functional level. in the end, i thought about how the bag would look in 20 years. i’m a big fan of buying quality and having it last you a lifetime, and i didnt see the filson weathering as well.
I feel like a briefcase is a lot more practical for everyday use than a piece of carry-on sized luggage. Plus that leather bag seems too nice for something that’s just going to get constantly scratched up with other people’s luggage in overhead bins, in car trunks, etc.
These are both awesome looking bags, but I am and likely will always be a sucker for leather…
If I owned that bag I would name it Satchel Page.
I like Filson, but I already have comparable bags. I consider a high end daily carry bag essential, but something like the pilot bag is an absolute luxury. Why not travel in a little extra style?
I am yet to acquire my first REAL professional bag. That S&P would be more than accommodating to that! In eluding from that variable, I cannot see how anyone would prefer the lesser here as the S&P is clearly investment worthy! Nevertheless, the Filson appears to be a great bag as well.
