Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
Saks Off 5th Ave: Extra 40% off Spring Ahead Sale
- Carrera Aviators – $55.99
- Saks 5th Ave. BLACK Leather Tech-Touch Drivers in Brown or Black – $32.00
- Saks Fifth Avenue RED Leather Wingtip Brogues – $107.50
- Saks Fifth Avenue BLACK Suede Drivers – $107.50
That Sunglasses & Gloves combo sure looks sinister. Saks off 5th is sorta like LastCall from Neiman Marcus. A big, expensive store’s outlet, but they’ve got a lot of their own diffusion brands (usually lower quality compared to their regular in-house lines) across the site. Prices are as marked. Free shipping kicks in at $75 w/ SHIP75
East Dane: New Additions to Sale
- Scotch & Soda Quilted Lambskin Jacket – $367.50 ($525)
- Wolverine 1000 Mile Addison in Tan, Brown, or Brown & Black – $262.50 ($375)
- Jack Spade Bicolor Card Case – $38.50 ($55)
- Eastland Made in Maine Boat Shoes – $155 ($310)
- Converse Washed Jack Purcell Sneakers – $49.00 ($70)
Lots better than last week’s code. The Wolverine Addisons are now noticeably cheaper… Lots of new items in the East Dane sale section. Pricey brands, but that’s a nice price on 1st quality Wolverine 1000 Milers. East Dane is an Amazon project, so you get free 3 day shipping (faster if you have Prime) and returns are free too. Doesn’t appear that the “sign up for Amazon clothing emails” code gets you an extra 25% off at checkout.
UNQILO: $19.90 Casual Shirt Sale (reg. $29.90)
The Pick: UNIQLO Slim Fit OCBD – $19.90 ($29.90)
The best bang-for-the-buck slim fit OCBD on the market just got better thanks to $10 off. No code, no nothin’. Prices are marked. Real slim through the arms, so if you’ve got some strength to your upper body, expect to feel slightly restricted. But they’re flexible, wash & iron easily, and look great. Now’s not a bad time to stock up. Free shipping kicks in at $50, otherwise it’s $7 for standard shipping. Their denim & chambray shirts are also on sale and are worth a look.
Last Call: Extra 35% off One Item
The Picks: Sophia Cashmere Cap in Gray or Black – $9.00, Gordon Rush Suede Wingtip – $113.75
So it’s an extra 35% off your highest price item, unless they’re already getting a bigger cut (like winter wear such as the extra 50% off price on the cashmere caps). The code INCIRCLE might… might get you free shipping? You may have to be signed up on their email list? Not sure…
Something to watch = J.C.F.: New Oxford Thompson is in
The (Obvious) Pick: Thompson Suit Jacket & Pant in Grey Oxford Cloth – $286.00 ($436)
More of a heads up than a sale. And that retail price is, as expected, pretty crazy. But expect these to drop into the low $200s… maybe under $200(?) with codes and specials as the weather warms up. And that jacket looks pretty sharp for a softer cotton fabric like oxford. The jacket alone would look pretty good with jeans or off-white chinos/5-pockets with some suede loafers. Something to keep an eye on.
Also worth a mention
- Allen Edmonds: Their $35 off Soles for Souls event is back.
- Club Monaco: 40% off sale items w/ MARCH … which drops these shearling gloves to $35.40.
- J. Crew: Pretty sure you guys saw this yesterday.
- Bonobos: $20 off “your first pair of washed chinos” w/ CHINO20
- ASOS: Extra 20% off Sale Items w/ 20MORE
Uniqlo has a fantastic selection of Socks and Underwear on the cheap too if you need a small item to get you over that $50 hump.
Good call on the “INCIRCLE” code for Last Call. Snatched one of the Cashmere caps for $9.54 total – free 2-3 day shipping. Just in time for the last bit of obnoxious DC cold that is deciding to hang around.
Hey Joe, what size are you in these Uniqlo OCBDs? I’ve never tried any of their shirts.
How are the Uniqlo OCBDs lengthwise? I remember reading somewhere (PTO maybe?) that they ran quite short, and could therefore be difficult to keep tucked in.
Medium seems to fit me pretty well.
Mine stay tucked in? I’m 5’10” and wear a medium.
I also wear a medium in Uniqlo’s OCBDs. I’m 5’10” and a bit heavier (and less athletic) than J-Top.
I had the same thing in my shopping bag. When I placed the order at the end, however, it said the offer changed and charged me $5 for shipping. Not sure what the deal was, perhaps they added a min price after a bunch of people bought that hat or something. I am on the mailing list and got the code, so it should have worked.
Why is that oxford cloth suit have such a high anchor price? I was expecting it to be the same as the corded cotton or the chino options…
I’m also 5’10” and wear a medium. It’s shorter than some of my other OCBDs, but it stays tucked in on me. For reference, I’m about 185lbs with a 32″ waist and 39″ chest. Just this morning, my wife mentioned (unsolicited) that the slim Uniqlo OCBD I had just put on fit me particularly well. The material isn’t the softest, but the fit is great. I wish I could create a Frankenstein’s monster with the material and collar from my Kamakura OCBD and the body and sleeve fit of my Uniqlo OCBD.
I’m 6’0″, so we’ll see how a large works. Their large slim fit dress shirts fit me quite nicely, hopefully the OCBD will too.
Note: I have that Oxford suit listed for sale in Dappered Threads.
In for two Uniqlo Oxfords. You are so bad for my wallet, Joe.
I only own two Uniqlo items and I love them both. I have a chambray shirt, which has a nice athletic fit and has become part of my regular rotation. The other item is a ultra lightweight down jacket, which is incredible. Trim fit, packs down into a bag that is the size of a softball. It’s similar to a Patagonia Nano Puff jacket but less than half the price.
Ugh, why can’t they use ivory buttons on the navy as well.
Just wanted to chime in – a huge chunk of my wardrobe is from UNIQLO, and I’m 6″0 like you. Not a big guy, on the trim side, and every shirt from them is a M.
I’m 5’10” 140 lbs ish, and the slim fit smalls stay tucked in just fine.
H.E. by Mango, 40% off fall/winter items. Dirt cheap henleys, pullovers, cords and sweaters. No promo code needed.

Have an extra $24 in the budget?
You can with Luxire.
Eastland made in Maine you have main tiny typo
$9 for a cashmere knit!!!!!
Ivory color or whatever. Is it called bone?
Chiming in as well. 6′, 160lbs here with broader shoulders. Medium fits perfectly. I find their length a little on the long side (bought my Oxford from them about 2 years ago so maybe it’s changed), so mine always stays tucked in.
INCIRCLE is only valid for INCIRCLE members, I guess that’s why it didn’t work for you.
This price for an acrylic ribbed hat is good! The fact it’s cashmere is insane.
Incircle worked for free shipping early in the day.
How are those Red line Wingtips? The brown look pretty nice for a hundred bucks…
Cashmere knit cap is sold out now. Won’t let me buy 🙁
….anyone wanna sell me there’s?!
Was able to order a black cap just now.
Another JCF pant not in 34″ inseam. Hooray for us giants.
34/short now finally available at JCF??? Hold on while I jump for joy…
Is this just in the “SALE” section or is there a special area? I’m not seeing it.
JOE thanks for introducing us to the Merlot Franciscan, just got mine, MAMA MIA!
Unabashedly jealous. I… didn’t jump on those when they ran the web gem sale, and during these latest 2nds sales they didn’t have any in my size. I’ve been chasin’ em ever since. Congrats on the buy. I think they’ll be super versatile!
I’ve been looking at those Wolverines for some time, but they’ve been close to that price on Amazon for a while now through F.S. Fashion (257+10 ship). I’m hoping to get them down just a bit more before buying, but free returns is a nice perk.
