The Thur/Fri Handfuls are great, but what if Monday rolls around and there are a few sales that can’t wait til the weekend? That can happen quite a bit during seasonal clearances. You’ll find three of the best, with three picks from each, to start the week below. Expect these with zero regularity. Note: The Sales Tripod’s mascot is Captain Cookster, the three legged tabby seen above. Proving that yet again, in the most unlikely ways, cats continue to dominate the internet.
This doesn’t look like it’s publicized on their site, but it went out in an email and there are a few items left with a wider range of sizes. Code expires 8/6 at 11:59 pm ET.
For the trousers at work crowd. Made in Canada. Wool dress pants aren’t cheap, but to find these for under $60 shipped, with the Bonobos fit and the feel of super 110s wool is worth a look. You will most likely need to get them hemmed up.
Those oxleys are incredible. Like wearing an unstructured blazer… on your legs. Breezy, lightweight, but not flimsy. The Pool Sharks in turqoise are on the bright side, but not strictly for summer. Orange, pink, yellow, etc. will be hard to wear in September. These? Probably not.
Still a good chunk of sizes left and got another price reduction. They make too many of these or something? Wondering if both of these suit jackets could double as a polished cotton blazer being that they’re cotton.
Major hat tip to “clp” over on threads for noticing that there’s a handful of jackets marked down on the Suitsupply site. Can’t recall Suitsupply ever doing this before. Checked the rest of the site, but it looks like this is limited to a handful of blazers/sportcoats. No markdowns on suits.

$150 for a Suitsupply blazer? Unheard of. A warning on this one: It looks pretty chopped in the tail. But, if you’re willing to invest a bit, it could be a steal at $150 for a blue casual blazer. All linen. Patch pockets. Could be a good upgrade for someone who’s been limping along with an old beat up chino blazer.
Not on sale, but actually from the upcoming fall collection. Not cheap, but not as expensive as you think it would be, being that this is Suitsupply. Waistcoats aren’t cheap. They’re also not for everyone. Good for those of us that like to layer something over a shirt in the fall, but don’t always want to wear a suit, sportcoat, blazer, and like cleaner lines than what most sweaters offer.
She’s got HUGE… peak lapels! … No? Not game for this one? There’s another DB in cotton that’s on sale. Okay, orange then? Well what about this one from Brooks Brothers? Much more expensive, but you could maybe even pull that off with jeans. Right. Yeah. Not your thing. Well, okay then.
Pour some out for the Anniversary sale. It’s over. But whenever a Nordstrom sale ends… it’s time to check back in on their Sale Section. Nope, those Anniversary Sale items aren’t over there (the Anniversary Sale is a pre-season sale, not an end of season clearance)… but there does appear to be some new additions to the sale section. Everything ships and returns free.

These are a brand new arrival over at Club Monaco, but they’re already on sale at Nordstrom? Nice. A terrific take on the classic canvas sneaker, only in what appears to be a deeper-nap suede. Awfully rich looking shade of suede on the brown pair. More on the regular Tretorn Nylite over here.
Not extra slim, just slim. Not a bad deal though for a Brooks Brothers non-iron.
Here’s a now and a later. The 1901 is a nice way to wrap up your summer if you’ve recently stepped on a pop top, and thus, blew out the obligatory flip flop. Cheap, ships free, and from the Nordstrom house brand 1901. Meanwhile, the TBNY double monks are more expensive than the Allen Edmonds Neumora, but they’ll be a little more lightweight and flexible. But hang on here… these might dip further in the coming months. Maybe they’ll land at half off during the next half-yearly sale?
Also on the radar to start the week: Lands’ End / L.E.C. is 25% off everything through today w/ TREAT and pin 1015. J. Crew is offering 30% off Knits and Tees through 8/7 w/ SHOPNOW.
From wheelhouse standards like chinos and sweaters, to fancy holiday stuff like velvet blazers and…
Weekend update: JCF drops the price on those suede boots to under $80 (final sale…
Fall textures. Smoothly suited. Dark and sleek. Etc.
In person with an iconic loafer... in a not so classic shade.
It's autumnal temptation time. Coats. Boots. Blazers. Sweaters. Shoes.
Brooks Brothers also gets in on the "sale's on sale" act.
