Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
The Picks: Cotton/Linen Suit Jacket + Matching Pant = $155.99 total ($380)
Yep, it works on suits and blazers as long as they’re in the sale section. A stupid good price for a plenty nice suit for summer. 62% cotton, 38% linen, and tailored fit. Sure it’s lined in poly, but if you’re on a budget? Hard to get better than this. Ships free, returns free in store. Plenty of sizes at post time. One of the better BR deals in recent memory.
The Picks: Irish Linen Ludlow Suit – $389.80 ($456), Tretorn Canvas Sneakers – $39.00 ($70), MacAlister Brickman Boots – $88.80
I was lucky enough to snag one of their Irish Linen Suits at the end of the year last year (in Indigo) and… can’t say enough about it. It’s a heavier jacket thanks to the outstanding construction, but it breathes extremely well and it’s treated me well in 90+ degrees. So while only the pants are on sale for 40% off with the code, if you’re wanting to lay some cash on a quality linen suit, this is a solid deal under $400. Meanwhile, stand by for an in person review of the fine stripe cotton Ludlow next week. It’s on sale for $249.60 with the code… but it’s kinda stiff. Better than the Factory version overall, but not THAT much beter. More on the sneakers over here. Brickman boots are resoleable and made in Italy. Watch out for final sale items, which can’t be returned.
The Picks: Slim Striped Pocket Tee – $16.00, Slim Cotton Cashmere V – $26.00, Layering Vest – $37.00, Skull & Crossbones Socks – $4.00
Meanwhile, over at J. Crew’s little brother… worth a full mention just for the free shipping code. So if you’ve had your eye on say, one slim shirt or one polo, then you won’t have to shell out the extra 4 bucks to get it to you. Free shipping code CELEBRATE expires today, 7/4. Size selection on suiting is still all over the joint.
The Pick: Narrow Stripe Credit Card Holder – $26.25 ($55.00)
Free ground shipping too, which makes small pickups like a card case all the more reasonable.
The Picks: Carucci Square Giarre – $135.00, Carucci Dual Time – $135.00
The clearance sales were a bit of a disappointment, but go figure that they run an affordable watch sale the next day with a couple of eyebrow-raisers (in a good way). Most in the sale is gaudy, but these from the Italian brand Carucci (w/ Japanese movements… assembled where exactly?) are tempting for the low $100s. Interesting dial setup on the round case dual time. Would you wear it? Also, there’s a couple of J. Springs (a division of Seiko) automatics that are begging for a new leather, maybe flieger or NATO style strap. Remember, this is GILT, so know their return policy. Not a lot of cash-back options. And some of these watches are final sale, so, no returns of any kind.
Also worth a mention: Billy Reid is still offering an extra 25% off sale items with JULY4. The Brooks Brothers Summer clearance event is still going on. LastCall is doing 30-60% off everything with half off suits and 40% off shoes. form•function•form is taking 15% off watch + strap combos w/ keepsonticking through Sunday. GANT is offering 20% off sale styles with STARSANDSTRIPES through Sunday.
The Huck team is off on vacation. Which means their big winter clearance is very…
Brooks Brothers starts their winter clearance with an additional 25% off sale items.
Plus a Christmas album you probably haven't heard yet this year. Maybe.
With a focus on holiday events. It's their last sale before their shipping cutoff.
