45% off Banana Republic Blazers, Suede Wingtips, & More – The Thurs. Handful

Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.

Banana Republic: Up to 45% off w/ BRSAVEMORE (limited exclusions)

The Details:  Here’s how this works. The code gets you 25% off one full priced item, 35% off two full priced items, and 45% off THREE full priced items. Key is the “full priced” part. But many of their socks are full priced, and believe it or not, blazers and suiting aren’t excluded. Also, when it comes to the socks, don’t be afraid of that buy 2 get a discount thing. That won’t negate the 45% off code (so you can buy two pairs of socks, get that discount, and still get 45% off a blazer) Here are some possible combos:

• Tailored Fit Chambray Blazer ($198) + Striped Socks ($12.50) + Cotton Pocket Square ($24.50) = $129.25

Bonobos: Extra 25% off Sale Items w/ EXTRA25

The Picks: Straight Leg Picklebacks – $36.00 ($88), Treemont Navy Linen/Cotton Jacket & Matching Pant – $238.50 ($448)

Green. It’s the un-red of bright summer pants. They even seem to go well with black polos and white sneakers. Even if they’re your bumming around the house/lazy Sunday afternoon BBQ with friends pants, they’re Bonobos comfortable, have that great fit, and they’ve got some character. For the suit, only sizes 36, 36S, 38, and 38S are left at post time. And you’ll need to get those pants hemmed. Also, thanks to John for pointing out that there might be a greater selection of other pants available, buried within the guts of the Bonobos site.

 

Last Call: Extra 30% – 50% off Everything + New Arrivals

The Pick: Thomas Dean Made in Italy Suede Wingtip in Stone or Grey Suede – $139.90 ($310), Magnanni Black Cap-Toe – $209.30 ($299)

An extra 30% off at LastCall.com is good, but if you’re patient, you can usually snag something for an extra 35% – 40% off. Still worth pointing out these just-arrived shoes. Going for the full $315 over at Nordstrom, the Thomas Dean Suede wingtips seem to be the real deal. Sole appears to be stitched, they’re made in Italy, and that grey pair could be a year-round go to. The Magnannis are sleek as usual, but might not be quite as pointy as in the past? Maybe? Purchases over $75 ship free with LCJUL75.

 

UNIQLO: Blazers on “Promotion” for $30

The Picks: Dry Jersey Jacket – $29.90 ($49.90), Cordlane Jacket – $29.90 ($69.90) Linen Cotton Jacket – $29.90 ($69.90), 

Only if UNIQLO blazers fit as well as most of their polos. For plenty, the tails are just too short, the arms too long, and the sides too boxy. But the fit can depend on the model of blazer. And for thirty bucks, especially if the exterior makeup is 65% linen and 35% cotton like the one on the left… maybe worth a flyer and a project for your tailor? Thoughts from you guys?

 

Zara / Massimo Dutti: Further Summer Sale Reductions

The Picks: Zara Houndstooth Wool/Mohair Blazer – $79.99 ($229), Massimo Dutti Suede Chukka in Tan or Navy – $84.90 ($175)

Sizes are more scattered than before, but there have been further price drops on some items that are worth a quick spy. Unfortunately, those Made in Spain suede single monks are now sold out. Everything ships and returns free.
