Collared Greens (forgive the pun) is a clothing company founded in 2008 with the belief that “elegance and eco-conscious can coexist.” This means their products are made in America with as little environmental impact as possible. The main line-up has a distinct prep flair to it, and features neckties, bow ties, polo shirts, belts, and other accessories.
So what are you getting for the cost? The shirt is designed in North Carolina, and is cut and sewn in South Carolina from 97% USDA certified organic Texas-grown cotton with 3% lycra for durability and a bit of stretch. In addition, each year the company donates a portion of their sales to non-profit organizations with a focus on conservation and works with NativeEnergy to reduce their carbon footprint. They also offer a 100% guaranteed return policy, no questions asked.
As for the shirt, it’s comfortable and fits true to size. The medium fits my tall, thin frame well (6’4″ /185), slim without being tight. It hits just below my belt, with sleeves ending past the midpoint of my bicep. The quality of manufacture is as advertised and it has quickly become a go-to shirt now that summer is firmly here.
You can buy Collared Green products from their website, or search for a retailer near you. I picked up my shirt when Huckberry featured them recently with a $10 off deal.
I’m glad to have found a new high-quality, American made clothing producer. Here’s hoping they keep it up and expand their product line.
