The Eliminator – Five from Huckberry
Here’s how this works: Each day we’ll eliminate an item until only one remains. Vote for the item you’d LEAST like to own at the bottom of the page. The item with the most votes gets ejected at the end of the day. The item that remains at the end of this battle royal will be won by one of you with an enter to win post firing off on Friday.
About Huckberry: It’s not easy to stand out in the world of flash sale websites, but Huckberry does it. With an emphasis on the outdoors and active lifestyle gear, they nail the upscale-rugged thing. Also, their sales are often filled with made in the USA goods. All of these items are currently available, or have been available through Huckberry at some point. May the best item win!

Tellason Made in the USA White Oak Selvage Jeans – $220.00
Tough as nails American made denim. White Oak blue line raw selvage that’s cut and sewn in San Francisco. Even the leather patch is from Portland’s Tanner Goods. Available in Slim Straight or Straight Leg fits, and 12.5 oz or ultra-substantial 16.5 oz. Order a size down and let the jeans conform to your body over time. Find out more about Tellason here.
ELIMINATED – Nisolo Chavito Suede Chukka – $124.00
Born from a micro-finance organization, Nisolo shoes are handcrafted in Peru by a small group of shoemakers. This small brand is sustaining over 30 jobs in Peru, and over the last year and a half they’ve “increased income levels of our artisans by up to 500%“. The Chavito has a lighter-tan suede upper, is lined in sheepskin, and has a rubber outsole. With more eyelets than a desert boot, it laces up securely to your foot. One of ten models in their men’s collection. Great looks, good conscience.
ELIMINATED – Jacob Bromwell Great American Copper Flask – $199.99
Pegs the needle on the “this is something” scale. A work of art with a 9 oz capacity. Hand made in the USA from pure copper. Comes with an authentic birch wood stopper, as well as a leak-free cork stopper (y’know, in case you take it for a jog?). Constructed with historically accurate techniques yet still corrosion resistant and FDA approved. Made to be used.
Two Lumina Button Downs of your choice – $168 ($84 per)
Tapered through the waist, high armholes, made in the USA. Casual shirts that don’t punt on a more precise fit, thanks to their half sizing system (small, small+, medium, medium+, etc). Pleated on the back so they move with instead of against you. Nicely sized collars that won’t pull a disappearing act under a sportcoat or blazer.
Palmer Trading Company Brimfield Waxed Duffle – $174.98
100% cotton twill exterior and moccasin leather handles and straps. Not a hard sided duffle, so you can smash it into an overhead bin or cram it into an overcrowded trunk if need be. On the smaller side with dimensions of 18″ x 8″ x 7″. Nickel hardware. Made in New England. $174.98 is the Huckberry Price. Retail for this thing in the Palmer Trading Company New York shop is $190.
Here comes the tough part. Pick the item that you’d LEAST like to win and vote below to have it eliminated. One item gets cut every day. The item that’s left at the end of the week will be up for grabs and you’ll be able to enter to win on Friday. Make your case for what needs to stay in the comments. Voting closes at 11:59pm ET.

no! not the shirts! get rid of the bag
Vice versa!
Still not sure why selvage denim is such a big deal….. Gotta go!
Agreed! the bag is tiny and useless!
I like the chukkas a lot better now that they’re eliminated and showing in that dark slate grey color. Maybe that’s an idea for their next product run.
wow yeah I didnt even notice the dimensions
I’m thrashing the shirts. According to their measurements, the neck of the Small shirts is 15″. Small shirts are supposed to be 14-14½.
Yeah, I think you could fit a toothbrush in there and little else. I would have no use for a bag this small.
I want the jeans!
They have a slim-sole version that I think looks really nice: http://www.nisoloshoes.com/products/emilio-le-chukka/
I like the jeans the most. Getting rid of the shirts this time. The sizing would be a horrible fit for me. Chest and waist are way too big for the neck size, then again, that’s the case in most OTR shirts for me.
Sizing Guide:
http://luminaclothing.com/sizing-guide/
I still just do not understand who (using my Small sizing as an example) needs a 41.5″ chest and then a 39″ waist? Who’s shaped like that and ordering a small? So many companies do this kind of sizing, so it has to be prevalent, but looking around at people on the street, I never seem to see them…
i searched their site for that color. didn’t realize it was greyed out from being eliminated. lol
Personally don’t find anything on this list to be particularly affordable or tempting. You can find more affordable versions of every single item on the list. I don’t think I’ll ever be a $200+ jeans guy.
ckniep, congratulations! This is your chance to be a $200+ jeans guy for $0!
It’s really confusing, isn’t it? I’m definitely overweight — and I don’t mean this in the teenaged girl oh-my-god-i’m-so-fat sense, but in the real, actual sense that I am overweight and have (diminishing) manboobs and a gut — but my chest measurement is 42-43″, and my waist measurement is about 38″. And I’d never think of ordering a small. Hell, despite my gut, I *still* have trouble finding OTR shirts that fit properly all the way through the torso, and even if I can manage that (J. Crew slim fit seems to work for me, for the most part), I’ve got Evan’s problem and the neck ends up so small that I can’t even *think* about buttoning the top button.
OTR sizing is kind of a mess. I have no clue who they’re trying to fit most of the time.
The bag is tiny and the shirts… well, they claim to be in half-sizes, but the sizing chart makes it look like they’ve actually just turned medium into small+, large into medium, XL into medium+, and so on.
That is certainly more in my price range! And don’t get me wrong I appreciate the opportunity here…although I’m slightly afraid if I did win I’d like them and change my mind.
Looked at the size charts of those Lumina shirts…Chest to waist ratio is a nono. How are they considered slim?
What is this, a bag for ants?
Get rid of that bag! Shirts are more useful and most people have a bag already!
If those chukkas were that shade of grey to begin with I would go buy them right now for full price.
Other companies are bad enough with neck sizing, but at least for them a 16″ neck goes with a 42″ chest. Which is great for me, but then I need a 32/33 waist, not 40-44 like most places make.
Lumina looks like it’s for people with crazy skinny necks. That or just insanely large torsos.
Small J Cew shirts are this size and dont allow me to close the top button but fit everywhere else. Mediums are too big elsewhere but fit in the neck. These seem like a nice happy in-between. 🙂
I’d totally buy those now. Sweet color.
That bag is beautiful! Stop voting it people!
Its the perfect gym bag! Shoes, a tee shirt, a dopp kit and mesh shorts. Done.
I don’t know why you would want/need a $200 bag for the gym though.
I paid retail for my Tellasons and would do it again. Amazing product. I tossed the shirts for the same reason as others.
Wow… I didn’t notice the dimensions either. Thanks for pointing it out!
Agreed. +1
I have no need for the shirts or the bag. But those jeans are very nice 🙂
selvage denim will not fray or unravel. It is a better quality denim than what you find on Levies or Wranglers
Get rid of the bag: too expensive for a gym bag!
Let’s not invent a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. I’ve had jeans wear holes, rip and tear, but I’ve never thought to myself “If only I could find a pair of jeans that wouldn’t unravel on me.” And selvedge itself has nothing to do with quality, it just looks neater.
That said, these jeans in particular are solid, well made, high quality, neater-looking raw denim that are made to be worn into the ground. For free!
Since I can’t have the flask, I’ll take em.
Here’s hoping the jeans come with a flask in the back pocket.
Out with the tiny bag, in with the super versatile quality dress shirts!
Drop the jeans.
let be honest. the jeans had this one out the gate…
cut the duffle bag
The idea was to get it for free; then it wouldn’t matter.
My point being, wouldn’t you rather win something expensive that would be more useful. I can buy a cheap gym bag for $20, but I can’t buy cheap selvage jeans for that price.
