J. Crew 30% off, Magnanni suede monks, etc. | Friday Handful

Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier.  Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look.  Those are what make up these handfuls.  Expect these things when necessary.  Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below.  Included are a few picks worth pointing out.

J. Crew: Extra 30% off Sale items w/ SPRINGTHAW
Great price. Sweatin’ just thinking about it.

Ludlow Italian Wool Flannel Jacket & Matching Pant – $392 w/ SPRINGTHAW

When is an out of season purchase TOO out of season?  J. Crew launched this extra 30% off sale items code, SPRINGTHAW, earlier this week… but the sale section is pretty picked over.  This flannel suit is one of the few new additions.  Sub $400 for a J. Crew Ludlow suit is pretty solid.  Especially when they have lots of sizes right now.  But most of us are thinking linen and seersucker, not flannel.  Time for a mini Style Poll?

Lands’ End / L.E.C.: $30 off $100 w/ TWINKLE & pin 1821
Chestnuts roasting… on your BBQ grill.

The Picks: Made in the USA Straight Fit Denim ($98) + Needlepoint Ornament ($2.97) = $70.97

Well that just seems sorta…  C’mon, the jeans are TWO DOLLARS under the threshold.  Full review here.  Slim fit also available.  Combo ships free.  Happy Holidays.

LastCall: Extra 30% off All Men’s
Made in the USA, and Made in Spain.

The Picks: Hugo Boss Plaid Suit – $402.50 ($795) , Magnanni Suede Monks – $195.30 ($395)

Jacket construction on the Boss suit is unknown (assuming fused?) and $400 is asking a lot.  But it’s made in the USA and the windowpane is nice and subtle.  Meanwhile, the color on those Magnanni Suede monks is LOUD.  And, who knows what you’d wear them with.  But I wouldn’t mind giving it a shot.  30% off isn’t as good as it gets with LastCall (sometimes 35% happens, or 40% off one item), but these two are some of the new items that just came in.  Worth keeping an eye on.

Rue La La: Men’s Suiting Trunk Show
All made in the USA

The Picks: Brooks Brothers Wool/Silk Tie in Plum – $19.90 ($85), Silk Tie in Purple & Green – $34.90 ($79.50), Wool/Silk Tie in – $19.90 ($85)

This sale is littered with Brooks Brothers stuff.  Between that and the GILT sales from earlier this week, it seems that Brooks Brothers pushes a chunk of their end of the line clearance to these flash-sale websites.  You can return these for the original form of payment, but you have to pick up the shipping costs.  Shipping is steep at $9.95, but that opens up a 30 day free shipping window at Rue La La.  Y’know, in case you want to grab an Omega Speedmaster or something.  (What is it with all of these flash sale sites selling vintage timepieces?)

Banana Republic: 25% off one full priced item,  35% off two, 45% off three IN STORE ONLY
You might not need the email & barcode?

The Picks: Depends on what they have in store…

Check your email.  You need Update:  Might not need to print out a flyer with a barcode on it, and the barcodes might be user specific.  This is only good in store, but suits & blazers might be up for the discount?  So maybe if you’ve had your eye on a blazer, you get that and a couple pairs of socks to trip the 45% off?  Here’s the fine print for this 25% off 1, 35% off 2, or 45% off 3 full-priced styles sale:

Offer valid from 04/18/2013 through 04/21/2013 at Banana Republic stores in the US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. Not valid at Banana Republic Factory Stores. Discount applies to full-priced merchandise only, not to GiftCards, packaging, shipping and handling, or applicable taxes. Online and in-store exclusions are third party branded merchandise (i.e. Spanx, Adidas, etc.). No adjustments on previous purchases. Not valid for cash or cash equivalent. Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts including Gap Inc. employee discount.

Their website is running a 35% off code right now, BRSHOP35, and blazers + suit jackets are excluded from that?  Who knows what’s gonna work in store.  Good luck if you’re heading in.  Update II:  Check the comments.  Looks like some stores have been disappointing so far with this one.

Also worth a mention: Allen Edmonds is taking an extra 15% off their clearance styles through 4/29, which pushes the casual/rough single monk Lubbock down to $167.45.  Macy’s just launched their latest one day sale, and the Hilfiger Trim Fit Seersucker Suit Separates are down to $220 (full review of last year’s model here… most would probably stick with the J. Crew Factory Thompson option ). Kenneth Cole is offering 30%  off with the Friends & Family code: FFA13.  GAP is doing 25% off, or 35% off if you spend more than $100 w/ GAPMORE.  So if you add these socks to this linen/cotton blazer, it comes out to $68.87.  Gant has put a few worthwhile items in sale & final sale, like this final sale peak lapel dog-tooth blazer that might get a dandy’s blood running hot.  Dockers is doing 30% off orders of $100+ w/ SPRING30.  J. Crew Factory has knocked an extra 30% off their final sale items with the code GETMORE (size availability in final sale is just shat-tastic though).
