We like our advertisers. They get it. They get that you guys in the readership don’t want enormous ads, advertorials, or a site with so many ad spaces that it’s hard to find the content. We try and keep the amount of ad space on Dappered limited on purpose. Keeps the site uncluttered. And every once in awhile a business comes a long who wants a presence in that limited ad space. And that’s awesome. So we’ve decided to start publishing a monthly list of our direct advertisers to say thanks to them, and also so that you guys stay informed.
We’ve never taken money to review a product or run a giveaway, nor do we keep free samples for ourselves. But to further our efforts to stay as unbiased as possible, we’ll be letting you guys know who’s buying ads from us, directly each month (as opposed to just running an ad network with tons of advertisers which we do most of the time).
So with that said, here’s this month’s list of direct advertisers:
Extensive, right? But many thanks to them! They also offered up one of their boxes for a giveaway, and since it seemed like something you guys might be interested in, a review & giveaway will run next week. We purchased the box our grooming correspondent, Andrew, tested out (it’s sorta hard to return used hair conditioner) so expect that honest review soon. One of you guys will win an unused box via a random drawing.
I hope they pay you in gum… seems like no one ever pays in gum anymore.
Not entirely related, but this was a good reminder to turn AdBlock off (for this site, anyway). Your revenue is affected if people block ads in their browsers, right?
I still remember working the docks for a pack of Bazooka Joe. Those were the days my friend.
“That’s – a lot – of gum!”

good idea, i like this site. just turned adblock off
Good call, done.
agreed, i un-adblocked this site… gets my full support 🙂
Better idea: just selectively block obnoxious ads.
Ads pay for almost everything on the web, and while you may especially appreciate this site there are still plenty of others where you benefit from their being free, so you shouldn’t be blocking ads on them either.
