Looks like the collection of 50 gifts goes on sale December 1st.
Who put a quarter in Target? The Bullseye has just released a preview of their holiday gifts collaboration with Neiman Marcus and a host of big name designers. That’s an interesting lunch table that Target now has itself a seat at. At this point does Walmart just spend the noon hour calling the time, picking scabs and eating boogers?
The project was announced back in July, and names like Marc Jacobs, Band of Outsiders, Rag & Bone and Jason Wu have all created a couple of gifts that will be stocked in store and online starting in December. Thom Browne, he of the shrunken suit, has even contributed.
These are two of the items that might catch some of your eyeballs. The blazer from Thom Browne is “made from pure wool”, has that obvious white piping, three brass buttons and red/white/blue detailing. Shades of the US Olympic team as well as the Suitsupply outfitted team from the Netherlands. It’s also a safe bet that this thing is going to be short if not chopped in the tail. Its Thom Browne after all.
The safer play seems to be the Rag & Bone Wool/Cotton blend cardigan with that exaggerated waffle knit.
But neither are cheap. And none of the 48 gifts will be available until December 1st. Interesting that they’re waiting that “late” to launch this holiday collaboration.
So would you even give the blazer a shot? What about the sweater for $70? Or will you be sticking to Target staples like Merona? Leave it all in the comments below.
