The Friday Handful – Columbus Day Weekend 2012

Sales that deserve some attention when heading into the weekend.  Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look.  Those are what make up the Friday Handful.  Expect these things when necessary.  Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below.  Included are a few picks worth pointing out.

The Pick: LEC Straight Made in the USA 628 Jeans – $58.80 ($98)

Absolutely worth it at $60 if you want a pair of Made in the States denim that fit like a 501.  Or, if you prefer something slimmer, there’s their 608 jeans for the same price.  Full review here.

EXPRESS: $15 off every $60 w/ 1893 plus 30% off outerwear

The Picks: Herringbone Topcoat – $178.60 ($298) + Cotton Check Pocket Square – $4.90*

(UPDATE:  Scenario here shows the $15 off every $75 that Express is pushing.  Credit to MasterRen in the comments for the $15 off $60 code 1893.)  Here’s how this works.  The Cotton Check Pocket Square is the balance tipper to get the next level up on the tiered code.  With just the topcoat (it’s on the way, seems to have some potential) you get $30 off with 1910.  *Add the pocket square and you get to the next level where $45 comes off with 1910.  The difference is $4.90, so, if you don’t want a $4.90 pocket square in gingham then skip it.  Looking forward to seeing how this stacks up against the BR houndstooth topcoat.

L.L. Bean is a little different because they don’t run sales all that often.  10% might not seems like much, but if you’ve had your eye on something at L.L. Bean Signature (or L.L. Bean) now’s the time to jump if you’re gonna.  Like Lands’ End Canvas, L.L. Bean Signature will shove some of their stuff that’s not moving over to the regular L.L. Bean sale section.  That’s where these two items come from.   Want some impulse mega cheap buys?  Try this wool tie or this lambswool/nylon ribbed scarf.  Both go for about $10 a piece.  And then there’s that turtleneck sweater dress for her.  As always,   shipping is free with L.L. Bean.

Ralph Lauren: 25% off & Free Shipping on select items w/ RLGIVING12

The Pick: Denim&Supply Cotton/Linen Full Zip Cardigan – $89.99 ($119)

Ralph Lauren’s brand Rugby is also doing 25% off but theirs is sitewide with the code RUGBYHOME25.  Sweater is still expensive, but the RL site is awfully picked over.  Free shipping is nice though.
