Sales that deserve some attention when heading into the weekend. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up the Friday Handful. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
.
The Picks: Made in the USA Straight fit or Slim Fit Jean – $75.00 ($100)
One of if not the least expensive made in the states denim out there. Made from US grown cotton too. L.E.C. has really taken a swing at the higher end demos lately. But will the prices on these continue to fall like other goods in L.E.C.’s history? Hard to tell. Just one color, rinsed indigo, which is a go-to. 16″ leg opening on the straight fits. 14.5″ on the slim. Still a splurge for most of us non-denim-heads (you can be addicted to jeans, but not in the cult of denim) at seventy-five bucks, but worth a look. Got both pairs on the way for an in-person side by side and that Rugby with massive potential is on the way too.
The Picks: Essential Prince of Wales | Consultant Navy Blue Gingham | Navy & White Knit Tie
You pay $320 for the deal, and in return get a $379 essential suit, one of Indochino’s custom shirts, and one of their ties. The “usually $600” perspective isn’t really relevant to those of us who stick to just suits from Indochino. But think of it this way: You’re saving $60 on one of their essential suits, you still get the $75 re-tailoring credit, and they’re throwing in a free shirt and tie. That’ll work. Vouchers have to be used by 9/27. Sidenote: Haven’t mentioned this yet, but… does anyone else find their entire “superhero collection” thing sorta… strange?
The Pick: Bar III Light Grey suit – $233.99 ($595)
Bar III is the slimmest fitting, most modern house brand that Macy’s carries. Sure the suits are fused, but for the low $200s, it’s a pretty well made suit. Many thanks to Thomas H. for sending in the email about piratejing’s post about this suit over on threads.
.
The Picks: Ciro Lendini Cap toe or Medallion Double Monk – $160.20 ($178)
10% off doesn’t seem like much, but Yoox doesn’t offer codes all the time, especially on their brand new collections. Both of these are made in Italy by the found-only-at-yoox Ciro Lendini. Very, VERY solid feeling for a mid $100s shoe brand (these are holding up real well.) And the free shipping helps quite a bit, since normal shipping costs from Yoox can get steep. You are on the hook for returns.
The Picks: Merino Striped V + Cotton/Acrylic Shawl = $77.95 ($167.90)
This is a classic EXPRESS sale. Codes, thresholds, math… It’s a mix and match buy one get one, so as soon as you put two items in your cart, the cheaper of the two gets the price chopped. Dump a third in, and whatever’s cheapest (even if it’s socks) gets the cut. So you have to be careful. When these two option are combined, the Merino Striped V gets the 50% off cut, and then together they just barely get over $125. $50 then gets taken off with 1792 (still with me?) and you end up with two solid looking fall sweaters for under $80. Shipping is $8. V comes in a couple of colors. Shawl is also available in a marled option.
Also worth a mention: Extra 25% off sale shoes at shoes.com with code 25SALE. 30% off at Banana Republic/GAP/Old Navy with code FALLCALLS (usual restrictions apply.) Perry Ellis
The Huck team is off on vacation. Which means their big winter clearance is very…
Brooks Brothers starts their winter clearance with an additional 25% off sale items.
Plus a Christmas album you probably haven't heard yet this year. Maybe.
With a focus on holiday events. It's their last sale before their shipping cutoff.
