Every so often a weekend comes along where there’s a decent batch of sales, but none of the sales produce enough solid finds to warrant your full attention. This appears to be one of those weekends. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
.
The Picks: Milano Super 120s Chalk Stripe – $598.80 | Bison Driver – $96.00
There’s a reason why that Milano is one of if not the only suit left with a wide variety of sizes. The button stance looks awkwardly high, and it’s black, which has fallen out of favor in the last 5 years as far as a go-to suiting color. But the chalk stripe is something else, and the fabric should feel amazing. Comes in the trimmest fit Brooks Brothers makes. Still, $600 is a lot for a suit with so many knocks against it. Made in Italy. Oh, and the bison drivers are awfully tempting now that they’re under $100.
The Picks: Wool Flannel Stripe Jacket & Pant – $144.98 | Grey Suede Cap Toe – $84.00
You’ll have to lay $150 on a severely out of season suit, but if the wool flannel is half-way decent, you might get one terrific looking suit at a dirt cheap price for the upcoming fall and winter. No 40Rs left at post time. The grey suede cap toes are absolutely wearble now. They do come with rope-style laces, but that’s easy enough to switch out if you want something that blends in a little more. Metal eyelets on those too, and not everyone will love that detail. Great looking shape and color for $84 though. Free shipping kicks in at $100, and you’re on the hook for returns.
The Pick: Jarret Suede Oxford in Blue – $90.00 ($128)
The % off might be just so-so for Banana Republic, but it’s worth pointing out that you can use the code this time on their shoes and non monogram suits. Currently field testing these things, and expect a full update on how they’re holding up next week here on the site. They’re doing really well, and have been a go-to this summer. So far they’ve withstood beatings from sweaty feet, red wine splashes, and plenty of bike rides. Ships free. Full review here.
Not a bad way to celebrate Independence Day, even though the day itself has already come and gone. Code expires 7/7/12 and can be applied to any of the stuff here. For the small stuff, it’s not a bad time to reload on Field Notes (if you’re hooked on the perfectly sized notebooks), snag a wool felt card case, or invest in a USA made Zippo with an antique looking finish. Maybe the airlines lost your luggage already this summer, and if so, consider the 2100 cubic inches of space within Wheelman & Co’s woodsman Duffel. Also available in navy. Shipping is free, no minimum, through Maxton Men.
The Picks: Neck & Sleeve Gingham – $34.99 (FINAL) | Factory Thompson Suit – $221.20
Keep an eye out for those final sale items, which the Gingham dress shirt is one of. No returns on those. There are some sizes over in the even slimmer fit too. The Factory Thompson suit is down to the low $200s, which is a solid price for it, but it has gone for less in the past. Full review on the Thompson, as always, right here.
Also worth a mention: LEC has put some of their shirts on sale for $14.99, flash sale site Beyond the Rack has Bond’s sunglasses from Quantum of Solace for $199 as well as some decent looking Nauticas for $26.99 (but get to know their return policy). Other tips are welcome in the comments. UPDATE: Those Tom Ford Sunglasses? Not quite what Daniel Craig wore in QoS. There’s one extra bar on the pair available for $199. Hat tip to Dan over on the facebook page for the extra sharp eye.
The Huck team is off on vacation. Which means their big winter clearance is very…
Brooks Brothers starts their winter clearance with an additional 25% off sale items.
Plus a Christmas album you probably haven't heard yet this year. Maybe.
With a focus on holiday events. It's their last sale before their shipping cutoff.
