Friday Handful – 6/8/12

.
Every so often a weekend comes along where there’s a decent batch of sales, but none of the sales produce enough solid finds to warrant your full attention.  This appears to be one of those weekends.  Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below.  Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
.

Sierra Trading Post: 20% off w/ ALOUTDOORS2 | 25% off $125 & 30% off $200 & w/ ALJUNE2
The 99% love a deal. Do the 1%?

The Pick: C.K. Glen Plaid Linen Suit – $209.97 ($600) | Isaia Linen Suit – $1050 ($3k)

More often than not, Sierra Trading Post is running some sort of tiered codes. Take 20% off with ALOUTDOORS2 or 25% off $125 / 30% off $200 with ALJUNE2. That 30% off code drops the real nice looking Calvin Klein Glen Plaid 100% linen suit all the way down to just north of $200. And then there’s the Isaia. Good. Friggin. Grief.

Piperlime: 20% off with code GIFT (exp. 11:59pm PT on 6/8.)
Add a shirt & shoes and you're set.

GAP Inc’s shoe (and more) store is gearing up for Dad’s Day with the 20% off site wide code GIFT.  There are some exclusions, namely: Final Sale stuff, Sunglasses, and the brands G-Shock, Boss Orange, Boss Black, Hunter, Merrell, Frye and The North Face.  Their selection isn’t enormous, but two items worth a peek are 501s for under $40 and a linen blend blazer that looks extremely lightweight and casual.  You’ll pay a bit for the blazer though.  Remember:  Piperlime offers free shipping both ways.  That’s key.

Lands’ End / Lands’ End Canvs $20 off $75 + free ship no min w/ FATHER & pin 2610
Sweater is 100% linen.

The Pick: Plaid Poplin in Glacier Blue + Linen Cardigan = $59.96 shipped

Here’s how this works.  The shirt in the “glaicer blue” combo is the only one that’s on sale for $19.99.  Pop on over to the Lands’ End side and find the L.E.C. linen cardigan in the plain ol’ L.E. sale section.  Buying the two together actually gets you the pair for a penny less than if you just bought the cardigan on its own.  They should ship free too, since the shirt ends in a $.99, not a $.97.  Other combos worth a look: Beach Side Linen Shorts (try the striped red) + Black Crosby Moc Toe = $61.97 shipped.  Thought you’d seen the last of the Crosbys huh?  Obviously those two are not to be worn together.  And finally, the beach side linen shorts, this on sale cardigan, and these socks will come out to $59.96 shipped.  And now my brain hurts (doesn’t take much).
UPDATE:  LEC has put a bunch of poplins on sale for $20.  Thanks to the guys in the comments for the heads up.

GAP: 25% off with GAPFUN (expires 6/10)
Word is the online pics don't do it justice.

25% off is solid these days for Gap.com.  Which also happens to be the only place some of us can friggin’ find this new linen blend blazer.  Hasn’t shown up in stores yet.  Word is it’s good.  Very good.  Under $100 with the code.  Comes in chest specific sizes and the closer tailored fit.

Why you should save your $:  Nordstrom’s 1/2 Yearly Sale starts next Friday 6/15
A curve ball.

The Pick: ??????

Ah.  Well, the best deal this weekend is sitting tight for next weekend.  Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale for men is worth looking forward to as well as saving your money for.  Nordstrom hardly ever throws big time sale events, and combine this with the extra markdowns that follow once the sale is technically “over” and it’s one of the best times to score something on the high end of an affordable minded guy’s budget for much much less.  Free shipping and free returns are also a huge bonus.  Items from Joseph Abboud, Hickey Freeman, Hugo Boss, Cole Haan, and other designers get some decent sized price cuts.  Same usually goes for their in-house brands like Calibrate and 1901.
