This is a weird one. Some of the styles that can have the code FRNDSFAM applied to them don’t meet the $100 purchase threshold to have the code activated. So it’s a friends and family sale, which only applies to select styles, and some of those styles won’t get the deal unless you buy another pair of shoes. Maybe two. Got that?
Despite the oddness, there’s some interesting options in the “select” pile. Some brand new models from well respected brands. And as always, everything ships free and fast (at worst, 2-day) and returns are free as well. On with a few picks:
.
As close as it gets to an official Dappered shoe of summer (can we say that?). Solid construction for an inexpensive canvas classic sneaker. Nice texture around the toe. Great stripe at the heel and the PF Flyers green logo is a throwback plus. Only problem is that you won’t get the extra 20% off unless you spend more than $100. Which stinks. On sale regardless for a more than decent $44.
The Zeus on the wingtip boot Mt. Olympus. And you’ll pay for it. Still $300 even with the 20% taken off (or, 17 individual PF Flyer Center Lo sneakers) Full review over here. Sizes are starting to get scarce.
Wait… didn’t they just release these? Still expensive at $268, but one of those models that shows Allen Edmonds isn’t scared to try new things. Speaking of new releases, the Neumok
The advantage to going through Endless as opposed to using the LINK20 code via Florsheim.com, is that your shoes get to you much, much faster, and you won’t get dinged if you have to return them. 5 color options with these. Three suede and two leather. The Veblen
Already on sale and the extra 20% off puts them just north of $200. Made in Spain, leather sole, and a nice cap toe that keeps them from being dead simple. Terrific burgundy color too.
Probably the poster child/shoe for the how to upgrade your look while dressed down. The ready to be beaten up leather and grippy sole are a nice juxtaposition to the true oxford closed lacing and wingtip. Best of both worlds on this one. Full review over here. The sometimes hard to find dark brown shown above is available in all sizes.
$150 is a decent chunk of change for a made in China Kenneth Cole dress shoe, but it’s simple, not overly modern, and maybe the shoes even come with some less athletic looking laces (what gives with those?). Ships and returns free. But before you go anywhere, maybe take a look at the brand new, made in Italy, Mercanti Fiorentini cap toe from DSW. You do get dinged on return shipping if you have to return those. SHIPR gets you free shipping with an email list signup.
One of J&Ms best. The sheepskin linings are terrific. These seem to go on sale every now and again through half a dozen different vendors. Two of the most common colors, the chocolate and camel, now get the 20% off treatment.
Red Wing Beckman – $139.30 ($320)
Danner Gore-Tex Mountain Light II – $139.30 ($330)
Red Wing Rugged Classic in Straw – $125.99 ($225)
All are made in the USA and all are FINAL SALE. So even though they’re shoes, you can’t return them once you make the purchase. The Danners in particular are impressive, thanks to their waterproof & breathable Gore-Tex lining. Sizes are limited on the first two. Remember, final sale means final. Code MUSTHAVE expires 3/15
The extra 20% off orders of select styles $100 and up code FRNDSFAM expires 3/15/12.
