L.L. Bean & L.L. Bean Signature 15% off sale

February 14, 2012 By Joe | Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. Also, we take your privacy rights seriously. Head here to learn more.

15% off your entire order with BOOT15 at Checkout – Expires 2/14

L.L. Bean Signature has been touting the BOOT15 code, while L.L. Bean has been asking customers to click through their facebook page, twitter account, or a promotional email that has this specific URL.  The url just seems to activate “boot15” and thus, the offers can’t be stacked.

Don’t laugh at the seemingly paltry discount.  L.L. Bean isn’t perpetually on sale, and they’re rarely tossing site wide codes out there.  So while a 25% off code at Banana Republic is decent and 30% is worthwhile, you’ll never see that kind of discount code floating around for L.L. Bean or their Signature line.

The discount applies to sale items, and on both Signature and regular L.L. Bean purchases.  Everything ships free.
.

Signature Canvas Jacket – $67.99 ($109)
Dead square perfect for cool spring nights.

Awesome in it’s simplicity and the upgraded details like the lining and slightly closer fit.  Stand up collar looks tremendous.  Available in the spring ready light grey “soapstone” seen here, plus a khaki, and a navy.  From the Signature line, but only available on the regular L.L. Bean side of the site.

Signature new Traditional Twill Jacket & Pants – $106.23 ($195)
Hard not to love at $106.

And this is why there’s no excuse to not get used to wearing a comfortable as all get out suit in the summer (barring extreme humidity/brutal conditions of course.)  It’s a favorite around these parts, and most if not all have seen it plenty before.  Full review here.  Pants are a little roomy and could use a shorter rise.  Sleeves on the jacket are a touch long and have those tough to tailor functional cuffs.  But if there’s a suit to have a mint julep in, then doze off in a hammock to, this is it.  Available in a darker khaki and navy, but there’s been some complaints about the blues not matching on the pants and jacket of the navy version.  Already on sale, and the extra 15% off makes it dirt cheap.

Signature Maine Standard Mocs – $76.49 ($119)
Sockless months are coming.

Less casual than a boat shoe, but still plenty of on the dock looks.  Full grain leather uppers, leather sole, and available in a couple of colors.  Might look decent with the above new traditional twill suit for a real laid back look.

Signature Searsport Flannel Jacket & Pants – $272 ($320)
This one also gets a lot of play.

Not as dirt cheap.  Not on sale.  But the 15% off gets you a thicker than you’d think it’d be tweedy flannel that unfortunately, will have to be stashed in your closet in a month or two.  Like the New Tradtional Twill it feels casual, but dresses up easier since there’s no patch pockets on it.  Available in Navy too.  Full review here.

Signature Wool Slacks – $84.99 ($175)
November pants in February.

Good Grief, they were going for $175?  That’s a lot of cash for a pair of pants.  They do have that rugged and dressed up at the same time thing going on, so, they’re pretty versatile.  Until it gets warm out.  Sizes are starting to get scattered and you can choose between cuffs, no cuffs, or an unfished hem for your inseam.  Also available in a something close to Blackwatch but sizes are decimated with those.

Signature Bean’s Canvas Cloth Pant – $46.74 ($69)
What a dockers D2 should feel like.

The reddish/orange “dark russet” might be one of the best colors available in the chino market.  It’s like you’re wearing red pants, only… not quite.  The deep grey “ore” is also on sale.  Really well reviewed and not dressed up.  Fatter belt loops than you’re used to, and have enough room in the legs (read: too much for some) that the guys who are sick of the slimmer = better trend will be ecstatic.

L.L. Bean Hand Sewn Suede Ranger Moc – $42.49 ($79)
Weekend and post work.

It’s like wearing red shoes only… not… wait, this sounds familiar.  Already on sale and the extra 15% puts that in the “red suede moc chukka” range.

Signature Bean’s Vacation Bag – $233.75 | Cole Haan Duffel – $130.43 w/ FEBFAMILY
Better than a plastic grocery bag for a carry on.

An all leather get-the-hell-out-of-town bag is a bit of a luxury.  They usually cost a boatload.  But the shape of the almost 2500 cubic inch L.L. Bean Signature option is that classic doctor’s style.  Nice.  Plenty of room inside too.  The cheap alternative is the Cole Haan bag via, you guessed it, CLAD.  Slightly smaller than the Bean.  Leather duffels just don’t dip this low in price.  Know that word is you can’t return CLAD items ordered after 2/15.

L.L. Bean Irish Fisherman’s Sweater – $126.65 ($149)
Makes you want to belt out a shanty.

An investment for sure, but as authentic as it gets.  Knit in Ireland from European worsted wool in as traditional of a pattern as it gets.  Button mock neck.  The ultimate extra layer for around the house, cabin, ski hill, docks, or igloo.

L.L. Bean Maine Cap Toe Lodge Boots – $59.49 ($129)
Not for dancing.

Clod hoppers in the first degree.  Oiled leather uppers and a Goodyear welted sole.  Well reviewed.

The L.L. Bean / Signature 15% off code BOOT15 expires on Tuesday  2/14/12

Was one click away from ordering the Signature Canvas Jacket but as much as I like it I decided to hold off, been spending way too much money.

Damn, I can’t decide between the navy and soap stone Signature Canvas Jacket.

I’m wearing the Lodge boots right now, they are excellent. Looks great with jeans and feels like they will last forever. They do need a bit of time to break in, but they are worth it.

Same here, but then I realized the one size and color combo they don’t have is the one I want :/

Wearing the twill jacket in navy right now. It’s awesome. Has really become my first go-to blazer when walking out of the house. I did have the body tapered to fit me better. The sleeves are long but I think it’s totally fine to have longer sleeves on a casual blazer. Functional buttons are amazing. Have been a conversation starter on more than one occasion. Girls like to unbutton them. 😀

The pants…not so much. They have a high rise and are super baggy. Not to mention they are a little shorter than I’m used to for a 30 inch inseam. I wore them with the pants once and didn’t like it at all. I don’t think I’ve worn them since. Still trying to figure out how to wear them. Will probably take them to the tailor at some point to see if I can get them super tapered.

Would honestly recommend just buying the blazer.

there’s always the great maine hunting shoes…signature’s waxed canvas ones are great; my suggestion is to order about 1/2 size down from your AE/Alden/other ‘sized small’ dress shoes, or a full size down from typical sneakers.  I wear an 11.5 in most dress shoes, and Bean’s suggestion was to get a 10.  I did…10 fits, but it’s maybe a touch small.  11’s are on their way.

I’m also wearing the Twill blazer today, got a lot of compliments. The fit is good at the sides, but the sleeves are a touch longer than I like. It’s not too noticeable.

Loved loved loved the Maine Standard Mocs, but after one summer the sole totally disintegrated on me.  Got a refund for the full price paid.

I’m stuck trying to decide between the khaki or soapstone. Ugh decisions.

Same here. They’re great looking shoes, but plan on the sole wearing down VERY quickly. Even when in rotation with other shoes.

Anyone have the measurements for the blazer in a 38 or 40?  I’m worried about length.

Just snagged three of the 8″ shorts for 30 bucks a piece and a nice looking striped oxford on sale for 30 as well. The 15% brought my total down to roughly 100 bucks. 25 bucks a piece, for the shorts and shirt is a pretty good deal and will be much needed for my spring break trip to Vegas in a month.

So I just visited the site through one of these links and got an offer for 20% taken off automatically in the cart.  According to their terms, it appears to be random, but worth checking out if you didn’t get in on the 15% yesterday.  It will say “SAVE 20% on your entire purchase” a little below the LL Bean logo at the top left.

This is true! Thanks for the tip. Just look for the 20% Off banner that will appear randomly.
