Take 40% off Lands’ End and L.E.C. with DONNER and pin 1585
Many thanks to Jason C., Anthony S., Ryan B., and others for the style tips.
30% off at Lands’ End Canvas is good. 40% off one item is a steal. 40% off everything (even sale) PLUS free shipping no minimum is downright jig worthy. Use the code DONNER and the pin 1585 at either Lands’ End Canvas, Lands’ End, or both, and there’s a chance you’ll get your order by Friday.

L.E.C. Chino Blazer – $59.99
($180)

Looks like this one was overpriced out of the gate. I think plenty of us remember their newer line of blazers coming out and gagging a bit on the retail prices. Currently way down on the price, and again, ships free. The functional buttons are a pain for tailoring, but this one comes in more exact chest measurement sizes. For $60, could be worth spending the money on your tailor to hack it up. And just because it’s khaki colored, don’t be afraid to wear it in the winter. Try a black V-neck and white shirt under. Already on sale.
L.E.C. Oxford Cloth Button Down – $29.70
($49.50)

They aren’t as good as the Bonobos oxfords, but they’re just fine for under $30. The white and blue shown here are the only colors that cost this much. The other options (like orange, yellow, light jade) are down to $15. They could be a little more fitted and have a more substantial collar, but other than that they’re awfully good for the price.
L.E.C. Crosby Moc Toe Boot – $47.99
($149)

Not quite as divisive as Indochino Suiting, but there are two camps with these things. Love, and hate. And I’m in camp love. I’ve had zero problems with my black Crosbys, and for under $50 they’re a friggin’ steal.
L.E.C. Button Mock Neck Sweater – $29.99
($78)

Say it with me: It’s time to ditch the zip. 1/4 zip pull over sweaters have been favored by plenty of guys for years. Buttons just look better. A little less suburban dad-ish. These are a huge upgrade from the all cotton quarter zip sweaters most reach for. Mainly cotton but with 16% wool. Great cable pattern. Nice work Lands’ End Canvas.
L.E.C. Nailhead Blazer – $29.94
($99.99)

It fits a bit big and nowhere near as fitted as it looks in the online pics. Also, the arms seemed to run a little long. But for $30? Might make a great go-to weekend sportcoat after your tailor gets their hands on it.
L.E.C. Straight Fit Cords – $17.99
($59.50)

Red pants. They’re not just for chinos anymore. Under $20 shipped with a straight fit and more colors if you’re not into the red pants thing. Try the richer than khaki “Brown Umber” or hedge on the red with “Forrest Green.”
Lands’ End “Tailored” Brown Donegal Tweed Suit Jacket
& Pant – $179.99
($449)

Who’s got experience w/ Lands’ End (not canvas) “tailored” fit suiting? A brown tweed suit for under $200 isn’t something you happen across every day, and if you’re into that look this could be a good find. The pants alone are worth considering at $60. Mainly wool with a bit of nylon woven in. Side tabs on the pants, ticket pocket on the jacket.
Lands’ End Donegal Wool Cap – $23.99
($59.50)

Meanwhile, in more affordable Donegal news… Different than your average watch cap thanks to the speckle and cable knit. Three different colors, but it’s tough to go wrong with the lighter grey.
Harris Tweed & Deerskin Gloves – $29.99
($79.50)

Target makes a cheap-o version and if memory serves, they usually sell those for around $20. These are all the way down to $30, have 100% wool tweed tops, and deerskin palms. That’s worth the extra $10.
The Lands’ End / L.E.C. 40% off and free shipping code DONNER + pin 1585 expires at 11:59pm CT on 12/19/11
With the additional 40% off, rugbys come down to just over $10. An absolute steal.
I ordered the Crosby Moc Toe Boot in brown, during the black Friday sale,or cyber Monday. Love’em so far. Right now I’m really liking that button up mock sweater. Sears doesn’t carry LEC in store do they? Think I can find the sweater there. It’s funny, I just told my girlfriend, that I’m done with hoddies, and zip up sweater. Unless I feel like being a bum at home all day,or working around that house.
I’m 6’1″ are the sweaters long enough or will I be showing midrift?
Something to keep in mind on the donegal pants, which I happen to be wearing right now; there are not any traditional beltloops on them, rather a sleeve that wraps around the rear half of the waist. Other than that and the slightly high rise, the pants are fantastic. Very high quality. Beautiful coloring, with specs of turquoise, maroon, yellow and green mixed in to the greenish-brown base color. Still considering picking up the jacket to complete the full suit.
Nice list btw, already picked up the Harris tweed gloves and that Canvas sweater.
NICE! Santa just did some shopping for himself. Thanks for this!
The Donegal Tweed Suit is an amazing deal. I really line the quality of the tweed, not to mention the excellent fit of the jacket and the pants. The jacket is double vented in the back and make sure to add cuffs to your pants and you’re all set. I would also recommend the plaid flannel tailored fit pants and olive wool jacket as well.
Got a pair of dark wash jeans, merlot cords, gingham shirt, canvas sneakers and a brown belt for $106 shipped. Awesome.
Can anyone comment on the straight fit cords sizing? Comparison to other brands would be the most useful. Depending on brand I’ve been everything from a 30×30 to a 32×32 and everything in between so buying pants online, from a new-to-me brand, can be a bit of a headache.
I’m 6’2″ 170lbs and, while I haven’t tried the sweater featured, in other LEC sweaters the Medium is long enough on me. The only thing I’ve noticed is, if you’re slim, their sweaters are cut very boxy, so if I hold my arms out I look like I’m wearing one of those skydiver wing-suits. YMMV.
Awesome. Thanks for the details on the pants. Good to know that they’re worth it…
Seems like it might be on par with the LL Bean Signature flannel suiting (wearing mine now) only these can be had for a song right now. Much appreciated…
you can always buy whatever you think might work, then return to any sears. that said, in LEC, I wear basically my 501 size, if that helps you, though I’ve not tried any of the cords, specifically.
What are the arm holes like in LEC blazers?
Bought a few things over the weekend using this code. Am hoping the straight fit cords fit like 501 or GAP straight fit jeans.
I had previously purchased the Crosby’s, but returned them because the leather was so stiff. But man, for that price maybe I should buy another pair!
Anyone have that button-up mockneck sweater in Camel in a sz. small they’d be interested in selling? I’m 100% serious–I’ve been eyeing that sweater for months now but the small is sold out.
Joe, good spot on those gloves–those are fire!
Anyone know how the straight fit cords compare fit-wise to the BR and Bonobos 5-pocket straight fits? Are they pretty comparable?
Anytime Joe. Also, I think the tailored fit in LE pants is pretty nice; I ordered a pair of Tailored Fit Corduroy Pants and they fit very nicely as well in addition to good quality corduroy material.
I just received a pair of LEC Slim Fit Corduroys and the fit is not too flattering; It’s regular fit at the top and slightly tapered below the knees.
I completely agree. I too ordered a pair of the slim fit cords and they were very strange indeed. Regular pant sup top and slims below the knee. That is not whats up.
I’ve found the LE shirts to be much higher quality than the LEC shirts.
I got the nailhead blazer, it’s very casual, not sure how I like it. The pattern looks like vertical stripes from a few feet away. Fit is ok, though the sleeves are too long – I figure I might just wear it as a casual jacket instead of blazer, maybe even push the sleeves up. Or I might just return it since I’ll probably never wear it….
I am true to size in these. 32 x 32 in Levi’s and gap. Same with LEC
6’2″, 200 lbs, and their medium sweaters fit me pretty well. I don’t know in what world I’m a medium, but whatever.
its always free shipping if you order from the sears store. i just ordered the leather workboots in dark maple. went to sears, asked at the lands end desk if they could order it, and boom, free shipping and returns to the sears store. can’t wait till the boots arrive.
Weird how this can differ so much. 6′ 185-190 and the M fits me really well.
LEC sweaters run very large. I’m 5’9, 170lbs, and wear a medium in their shirts, but a medium sweater has me swimming.
can’t believe you didn’t post the silk/wool blend ties. they were nice at $39.99 – 30%. they are amazing at $29.99 – 40%. http://www.landsend.com/pp/NewSilkWoolNecktie~227356_291.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::DBL&CM_MERCH=IDX_Men-_-DressShirtsTies-_-Ties&origin=index
i picked up the dark blue and deep jade. very nice colors, texture, and overall quality. just ordered a port color one as well to round out the collection.
The discount code has now expired. I just tried to use it, but to no avail. Dang.
Just had the same issue as @google-c5954f37e69c0a0834fc99d4d45884a6:disqus . Code and pin expired.
Late breaking news! LEC is continuing to honor the 40% off and free shipping until 11:59 CST tonight. The only catch is you have to call your order in. Use the same DONNER and 1585 pin codes. They have an internal code for today’s promotion extension but you need yesterday’s code to get them to honor it today.
LEC 1.800.963.4816
Good luck!
I called Lands End and they were able to honor the promotion (it’s 11:43pm CST).
Digiadvocate, Thanks so much for the tip – I’d given up on this! 🙂
