15% off at MaxtonMen.com w/ code DAPPERED
It’s like they opened up a general store just for us. MaxtonMen.com carries a variety of stuff geared towards guys with an appreciation for style, and none of it costs more than $100. Also, and this is big, everything ships free.
Some of it is curated brands like Coach, American Crew, and moleskin, while some of it is their own line. It’s mainly little stuff. Hair product, maybe a duffel bag, socks, ties, and pocket squares. All of it costs under $100 and all of it ships free. Here’s how far $100 can get you, and find out at the bottom of the page just how you can win this particular set of Maxton Men goods.

Old Calgary Organic Wool Oxford Card Sleeve – $15.00

MaxtonMen carries a couple of brands that specialize in making their goods here in the U.S. Despite the name, Old Calgary makes their stuff in Florida (not Alberta.) This card sleeve nails the entire upgraded rugged look. Merino wool felt makes for an inexpensive gift for a pal or yourself. And again, it ships free.
Maxton Men Silver Smoke 2″ Tie Bar – $24.00

So you want a tie bar but you don’t want any of the flash. The answer will look something like this. About the same price you’d pay for a shined up department store tie bar, and it ships free.
Woodlore Cedar Shoe Trees – $19.00

So here’s the scenario: You just got a new pair of shoes. That’s good. But you don’t have an extra pair of shoe trees laying around to keep these new shoes in good shape. That’s bad. Usually, you’d head to Macy’s or something and maybe pick up a pair of cheap made in China shoe trees for around $20. Maybe more if they’re not on sale. These are under $20, made in the USA for Allen Edmonds, and since they ship free you don’t have to go to the mall.
Maxton Men Wool/Silk Navy Stripe Tie – $42.00

Made in China but the quality is pretty good. Better than bargain ties where even the wool mix versions can feel downright flimsy. This one doesn’t have that about to self destruct feel. Plus the stripes are perfect, it ties a decent knot, and it’s 3″ at it’s widest point. Not 2.5″ or 3″. Three inches on the nose.
Grand Total: $100.00
Grand Total with the 15% off code DAPPERED: $85.00
And it all ships totally free. Ordered the tie and shoe trees myself and they showed up 2-3 days later. Want to win the card sleeve, tie bar, shoe trees and wool/silk tie? Send an email to contests@dappered.com with Maxton Men in the subject line. One entry per person. Deadline for entry is 11:59pm ET on 11/16/11. 15% off code expires 11/30/11. Also, are you liking the less is more approach Maxton Men is taking? Leave your take on their site below.
UPDATE: Congrats to Andre G. who the drawing for the goods. Thanks again to Maxton Men.
Eh. I’m not sure if I’ll have enough money to take advantage of that 15% deal. Either way, when I do get some funds I’m grabbing that Made in FL wallet and this bad boy:

Drinking coffee will never be the same again.
I’m loving this site so much. Thanks, Dappered!
Those shoe trees look nicer, but if you want some cheap and fast DSW has some for $15 / pair.
Also, it’s hard to beat thetiebar.com for ties ($15), pocket squares ($8), and tie bars ($15). Another great place I’ve found recently for accessories is Stein Mart. I got a tie bar for $10 and, with their Veteran’s day sale and another coupon I got a couple of bow ties for $10 each. They don’t have anything as cool as the felt wallet, though.
I own that wool Oxford card sleeve and it’s terrific.
Like the stuff, but have to say that the 42$ wool ties look exactly the same like the $15 tiebar.com wool ties. Design, composition, and texture (to the extent it can be told from the pictures) are identical. It would help to have more information if the difference in price is justified by actual differences in quality or due to branding.
PS: for the record, I have the tiebar versions of all 4 wool ties listed on Maxton
Nordstrom Rack sells those exact shoe trees for 12 bucks. If you have a store local, I’d try there first
To second tat, I use Nordstrom shoe trees and love them. Also have a set of AE ones which are nice, but pretty much the same.
Man, I wish. I keep hoping one will pop up around here, but no luck.
Joe,
There has just been a lot of consistently great content lately. Not that it wasn’t before, but Dappered has really become my #1 visited site. The giveaways and their ilk have been excellent. Just thought this was a good time to reiterate, thank you for what you do.
Greg
Thanks for the code, Joe.
Cool picks, Joe! I’ve entered and included a copy of a short story I wrote so you’ll be entertained on the off chance you pick it.
I need to find a money clip to go with that card holder. I’m about to move away from the wallet!
Yes, but do they ship for free?
If I’m reading the article right, the 15% discount doesn’t have minimum purchase, correct?
An interesting concept, to be sure. If they can keep prices competitive and provide quality goods, I think it could definitely become a favorite in my comparison shopping.
Just bought a wool felt kindle fire cover. Thanks for the 15% off and if you tell your friends about them they will hook you up with a little more money off too.
When will the winner be announced?
We’ve got a winner, sent an email, but have yet to hear back yet. So once they respond…
Double-checking my email now…
I was check this thread out based on the Feb 2012, Best Bets Under $75 and I have to agree with branxini: ties at Maxton are the same as Tiebar:

The pocket squares are the same too. Would be curious to know if there is a diff in quality.
