Lands’ End Code: DISCOVERLE Pin: 6702 = 25% off and free shipping no minimum.
Expires 11/15. FAMILYDOWN & pin 9954 seem to get the same deal. Credit to Jason C. and Josh C. for the tips.
Update: Looks like they’re now calling this their anniversary event. FAMILYSAVE25 and pin 1142 also work.
Maybe retailers are just trying to get a running start on the holiday shopping season, but there’s no shortage of codes right now. Here’s a few:
- J. Crew: STAYWARM = 25% off $150 and up with free shipping (exp 11/9)
- Bloomingdales
: FANDF = 20% off. FREESHIP11 = Free Shipping (exp 11/13)
- Original Penguin: OPFF40 = 40% off for Friends & Family. (exp 11/14)
- Express: 1908 = $15 off $60, $30 off $120, etc… and can be stacked on a 30% off outerwear sale.
But the best of the current lot is the Lands’ End code up top. 25% off, you get free shipping no minimum, and sale items aren’t excluded. Some sale, some new arrivals, some L.E.C., and some plain ol’ Lands’ End are below…
.
L.E.C. Crosby Moc-Toe Lace Up Boots – $74.99
($149.00)

Finally got a pair and couldn’t be happier. True, the hooks at the top are a little weak, and the leather isn’t the highest quality, but after they break in a little they’re nails. Even if those hooks start to cause problems, can’t complain for $75. Plus, you could always have a cobbler replace them with regular eyelets.
Cotton Casual Vest – $74.63
($99.50)

Has potential, but with waistcoats you just never know. This does have an adjustable belt buckle on the back, and since it’s 100% cotton, you’re not stuck with some shiny fake silk thing on the rear. Four welt pockets.
Refined Slim Fit 100% Wool Herringbone Pants – $97.50
($130)

Man. When did L.E.C. get into the realm of pants that elicit a well over $100 price tag? Wool pants that can be dressed up for the guys who don’t like flimsy dress slacks. Everything is getting more expensive, and unlike other somewhat cheaper options these are all wool, but it still might be best to wait for a bigger discount.
Button Neck Cable Sweater – $59.63
($79.50)

Sixty bucks isn’t chump change, but high button neck cable sweaters will come in more than handy now that winter is coming up shortly. Consider this sweater alternative #1289304 to the hoodie. Far far better looking than a boxy cotton quarter zip. Mainly cotton but some wool and nylon woven in too.
Harris Tweed Deerskin Gloves – $59.63
($79.50)

Not from Canvas but from big brother Lands’ End. 100% wool herringbone tweed on top and deerskin for the palms. Hang tight if the price is still too much. Target seems to release an ultra cheap version of these every year.
Wool Surcingle Belt – $11.24
($29.50)

Three colors but sizes are limited in anything but black. Don’t worry, you can wear that lighter tan leather on the black wool mix belt. Looks more than decent despite the entire “no black with brown” theory.
Heritage Oxford – $14.99 – $18.75
($49.50)

Of course the white and blue oxfords aren’t on sale, but a Lands’ End Canvas oxford cloth button down is a great layering piece for the on-sale money. Stick with the neutral gull grey if you want a workwear look that’s not a chambray, or for color, try the washed orange.
The two Lands’ End Code DISCOVERLE and the pin 6702 are set to expire 11/15/2011
I bought the washed orange heritage oxford and had to return it. It turns out it’s more or less fluorescent pink. The gull grey, “pale sun” and the striped ones are nice though.
May just have to get those boots.
Snagged the boots in brown…sweater is tempting too.
Boot has a ‘wood’ heel instead of a leather heel?
They have a $130 shirt. LEC has a $130 shirt. Now, I’m not above the notion of spending $130 on a shirt; not that I have…but it’s not inconceivable (you keep using that word…)…but who’s going to get one from LEC?
That’s what I’m thinking. I feel like they released a truly expensive line this season. It’s a shame, because they got a huge influx of customers from their reputations as a not-too-expensive, well fitting basics store.
….that wool herringbone sportcoat is absolutely KILLING IT. If you don’t know, now you know.

Wouldn’t have minded those gloves if they were a different color, otherwise, I’m very happy with the RL ones.
Wow…not only is the sportcoat amazing, that picture finally makes me want to buy the cosby boots. I didn’t realize the brown was in that shade…and the red laces are a nice touch.
For more pretty pictures and outfit ideas, the same sportcoat is shown here:

I’ve been staring at that thing…but at $240 I will not be pulling the trigger.
I’m not a fan of the Crosby Mocs. I ordered a pair in brown. The leather was way too stiff and had elephant skin.
I would rather spend my money on the Bayfields, but I see Lands End has taken them down.
Where can I find the tie that’s in the Heritage Oxford post?
That sweater looks amazing… Wish I weren’t over budget.
About those Crosby’s… ordered a pair, looked pretty good, had a great insole shape, but son-of-a-gun if they weren’t the stiffest, most unforgiving things I have ever had the displeasure of putting on my feet. I had bruised shins, people, from these unflexing torturers. Bruised Shins! I felt like I may have been wearing a device made from that lunatic from Saw.
Oh waistcoats, how I know I would look good in you if only you came in TALL SIZES. *Sigh*
Is it just me or is Canvas getting pretty pricey…
OK Joe..need a favor. Can you hit a few pics of the Crosby’s with a few pants so I get an idea of jeans and dressed up/down? I waffled and got the black FL Gaffney’s a bit ago…not sure I’m happy with that decision. I think they’ll grow on me as they bet a bit beat up, which I will allow to happen. So now I need a brown boot and the Crosby’s keep calling me.
Those trousers look great, if only I could tell how they finish through the leg, instead of bunching up on those boots…it’s so annoying when the photoshoot stylists pair pieces that mask each other’s full effect.
Joe,
Off topic (but the sweater above reminded me of it), have you seen a navy sweater, heavier knit, with a shawl collar and a toggle closure at the top. Been looking for a nice one all season! Something around $100 would be nice.
I’m wearing mine now and I gotta say I love ’em. I’m not quite sure what people are expecting for under $80, but I haven’t had any issues with the leather. Mine are in black though. Maybe different leather runs?
You need to be kicked in the shins more 🙂 Kidding. They’re a little stiff at first like I’ve said, but, I haven’t had any, um… bruising issues… Worn em at least 3-4 times a week since I got mine.
I’ll save the digital film and just put it this way. Jeans, cords, flannel trousers: Yes. Dress pants: No. And I don’t have the brown ones, just the black, so…
So like this, but with a toggle? http://canvas.landsend.com/pp/ShawlCollarSweater~217672_-1.html?

I have the LEC Men’s Shawl Collar Sweater in Sea Washed Red and love it!
I like them too, does RL have a cheaper option? link?
Crosbys in black or brown? What do you think
The jcrew factory one is nice! Thanks! =)
Some great finds.
It seems that there are more issues with the brown leather than black. I might give them another shot maybe in the black.
Hi, Joe. I just did a mock check-out, and it seems the code DISCOVERLE with pin 6702 actually is valid on Sale items. Brought a $20 Sale sweater down to $15 (+ tax) with free shipping.
Those gloves are so ace! I just don’t know if I could do $60 for ’em. How are the quality on the Target version? Granted, it’s Target, so I’m not expecting much in terms of high quality. I just want to know if they’re going to fall apart in a week or if I can expect to have them for a season or more.
Oops. Please ignore that comment. Read “aren’t excluded” as “aren’t included.”
Joe, these are good picks but L.E.C. seems to be getting pricier every season!
Pretty sure he was referring to these: https://dappered.com/2011/11/the-splurge-quilted-leather-moto-gloves/
Well, in their defense, they’ve only been around for two years. I kid. But yeah, I’ve noticed that as well. Prices are going up everywhere though. Big time: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-16/gap-wal-mart-clothing-suppliers-raise-prices-on-terrifying-cotton-costs.html
Same here. I’m so tempted, but that price is a bit too steep.
Joe,
What do you think of this Jacket? I am really tempted to buy this, but not sure how durable the Waxed Canvas is compared to Leather. http://canvas.landsend.com/pp/WaxedCanvasFieldJacket~228776_-1.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::RDI&CM_MERCH=IDX_Men-_-Outerwear&origin=index
