5. Lands’ End Canvas Crosby Boots – $149.00
Alden Indy Doppelganger

Major potential.  Also available in brown, but black shoes and boots get a bad rap.  No matter the color, we’ve finally arrived at boot season in some parts of the country.  Sit tight for an in-person.  (And *cough* giveaway of sorts… )

4.  Ted Baker Bersary Briefcase – $81.90 ($165.00)
Jury’s out.

It’s on the way and stay tuned for a review, but honestly this thing could be either a dumpster fire, or Helen of Troy with a shoulder strap (for the price).  It’s faux leather, and true to Ted Baker form it comes with a pop of color which honestly I just noticed.  Sonofa…  Not so sure about that peacock feather paisley color scheme on the interior.

3.  Glencairn Whiskey Glass – $7.19
Eat it Dixie.

Time to say goodbye to ice and hello to a drink, neat, after the sun goes down.  Along with women wearing sweaters and football, it’s easily one of the best things about the weather between now and when the snow starts to fly.  Once the snow does start to fly, you’ll still get plenty of use out of one (or two) of these.

2. Meltonian Shoe Creme Polish – $2.50 – $5.50
Looks delicious.  From a shoe’s perspective.

Wax based shoe polish gives you a great shine but can clog up and slowly dry out the leather.  Shoe creme hydrates the leather while brightening up the color and can deliver some, but not as much shine as a polish.  Meltonian is a Creme Polish with natural based waxes.  Confused?  Right.  But it works great.  Use “Brick” for these.  Your local cobbler probably has a supply to save you on shipping.  Great for those of us who aren’t OCD about our shoes, but like them to look good on our feet.

1. J. Crew Factory Tweed Blazer – $178.00 (but when on sale, $124.60)
Off the rack contouring is stellar.

Almost $180 is almost $200.  And that’s a lot for one sportcoat.  70% wool with the remainder being nylon but don’t flip out about that synthetic content.  It’s good.  Very good.  Excellent when on sale for $124.60.
