Hilfiger is an odd one. Their website can be a catastrophe to navigate. The sizes on their casual wear in-store seem to run WAY big. Yet their trim fit suits at Macy’s are a solid deal for the price, and when it comes to the web, they’ve got some real tempting accessories and shoes.
All sale items get an extra 50% taken off once they go in your cart. If you’re dropping more than $125 (which is a lot for Hilfiger online) know that the code SDJULY20 should get you an extra 20% off that 50% markdown (through 7/21?). Free shipping kicks in at a whopping $150, but returns ship free if you fill out their form & use their label.
Hilfiger does a pretty good job with making inexpensive ties. But here’s a great example of the wonkyness (or is it wonkiness?) of their website. The only tie with a width description is the grey oxford. And that one comes in at a perfect for most 3″
The average Joe Schmoe (right here, that’s me) can’t pull off a bow tie. Maybe, MAYBE at a super-fun summer wedding where the bride and groom are dead set on making it a party atmosphere. But some of you can pull them off at work, so, more power to you.
That’s quite the odd couple. Who’s got the guts to try out the beach “tux” pants? The wool herringbone look to be a perfect tweed fabric ready for fall, but they might need serious tailoring. Both are risks.
About as cheap as it gets. Plus, it’s pretty plain and has a decent pocket setup. One logo, but it’s on the inside of the case and it’s tonal. Not bad if you want to branch out from your regular wallet for cheap.
This has to be the deal of the sale. Was over $200, now $85 $72 and has a great looking shape to it. Smooth and plain, leather quality is unknown… but for over $200 retail you’d hope it’s not terrible. Zoom in on the sole of the boot they have online and it clearly says “Made in Italy.” Huh. How bout that (who knows if they’re all made there though). You’ll need a size conversion chart since they’re listed in EU sizes. Here’s one.
Mr. H, it didn’t sell because there’s no hood. Might be good for early mornings around the house or the annual Thanksgiving Day football game (keep those hands warm), but that kangaroo pocket could make your gut look big.
No word on when the Hilfiger “Say So Long to Summer Sale” expires.
Smart choices, both in style and practicality, for rainy fall days.
