Ray-Ban “Road Spirit” RB3428 54 Polarized – $139.98 (reg. $199.95)
First: Yeah, those are pricey. But they’re on sale, and some guys hold polarized lenses in a similar high esteem which many hold automatic watches. That, and the brow bar is pronounced and good fuel for the debate. File these under too expensive, even with the on-sale price.
The Brow Bar. Some call it a Sweat Bar. Call it whatever you want, it’s that extra piece between the eyes on some of the now seemingly back in favor ultra-vintage looking aviators. Its alleged original intent was to keep sweat and debris from sneaking through the gap between a pilot’s naturally-protective-thank-you-evolution eyebrows. At one point, Joe Flacco had no need for this. (Not that any of us non pilots ever do)
The Ray-Ban Road Spirit goes one click up on the retro-scale thanks to the thicker accents around the lenses. These aren’t sunglasses that blend in. But in general, is the Brow Bar too much?
Throw some yellow lenses in there and you’ll be channeling Walter from The Big Lebowski*.
Thanks, but I think I’d personally take any of these instead.

*Sidenote: Had no idea that Beth was going to: A. Do a post on swimsuits. B. Mention the Big Lebowski in her post. Sometimes the planets just align. Guess it’s a White Russian for me tonight.
